ranked seems more of a luck based game than a skill-required game

it seems victories in ranked only go to whoever is luckier and didnt throw. half of my losses in ranked are from my team throwing super hard. it pisses me off. why should I even bother with ranked? it's in no means more enjoyable than normals. it's stressful and is just a game of luck and chance.

Yep. Whether you win or lose tends to be determined by whether or not you landed on Team Retard. Technically the odds are in your favour as long as you're not a noob yourself, but allow me to remind you what "having the odds in your favour" ACTUALLY means.

It really is luck based

If you fail any luck checks, you'll get

-Intentional feeders/trolls -Rage quitters -AFK/DC team mate -/ff spammers -People who are trying out a new champ they just bought and haven't bothered practicing in normals first -Janna jungler (only viable in URF imo) -Teemo mid/ADC/support

Just want to say that I agree. I playing competitive games since 15 years, from broodwar, cs 1.6 and q3, and LoL is the only game where you feel like its purely luck based. Ammount of dice rolling you are performing even before game begins is just insane.

Well, it's not luck based but the way it works sucks just the same.

If you play thousandsn of games you'll reach the point where you should be based on your ability. Because there are 9 other variables involved in each match it takes a really long time and even 500 games is too low of a sample size. Also it's based on a bell curve so it's possible for your rank to drop every year as the average skill level of other players improves. yay.

Dealing with AFK / DC /feeder is something that seems to apply to all skill levels though.

It's actually based on three factors whether you win or lose. However, each factors have different percentage of how it will affect your match.

  1. Luck based - I would save 60% of your match is based on this. Whether it's luck teaming with good people or luck while in your match from getting AFK's to RNG crits.
  2. Team Composition 25% - If both teams are evenly matched, the team with the better composition wins. This is why picking counters is very important.
  3. Skills 15% - Skills is important when playing your champ but this can be easily denied by snowballing, so it's important that the jungler do a lolnexus.com search on their opponent and see who he should gank first.
