MMR immunity from D/C's and AFKs and Rage Quits in ranked.

How about if any of this happens in ranked, MMR isn't affected by it? I don't care about LP I can lose 80 in one day and make it up the next. But losing at 0 LP because of this really sucks. Im not regressing at all and im not progressing. I can't control wild card things like this in my rank game. MMR shouldn't be raised for winning a 5v4 or lowered for losing a 4v5. MMR is important. It's the difference between 3 LP gains and 23 LP gains. I don't want it tanking or even me getting demoted because we had to fight at a disadvantage that we had no control over.

If I remember right, this was not added in because Rito thought that this would cause ranked to become toxic to the point where people not wanting a loss would be harassed into leaving and so would require something ridiculous like a 4 loss penalty on the person that left the game to counter that.

Gets rid of comments like

"It would be better if just one of us left the game and so the rest of us don't get losses than all of us getting loses... lets all harass the jungler to try to get him to leave."

Instead of working together to try to figure out a way to win, people would turn on their teammates to try to avoid the loss.

You ready to take your MMR gain prevention when there's an AFK on the other team then?

I kinda like this, still lose LP/gain LP for both teams, but no change in MMR. Actually seems like it would be more balancing for match making, although I think there may be some issue with people getting mad when they are demoted after a loss (because if your mmr is below the rank you're at and you're losing then the LP doesn't matter because the MMR is lower to begin with so the game drops you even if you don't lose MMR because you weren't able to bring it back up).

One game won't really affect your mmr unless you are already at a substantial lower mmr then your lp.

Too much abuse potential this way. When the team is losing, it'd be a hell of a lot easier to pressure someone into leaving to force the DC "no MMR loss" factor than to actually try to win. Premature surrender votes are bad enough as-is.

On the flip side, I think it's ridiculous to expect the team that does not have an AFK to be penalized. Why should I get cheated out of my win MMR if an enemy team member was toxic enough to drive one of the others to AFKing?

So if the DCer comes back and you still lose would you still lose MR?

Except ya know....if you were losing, you could just D/C to save yourself, or always duo with someone and have them D/C if you are afraid of dropping a rank.

Why not D/C If you are going to lose the match anyway, you are going to lose LP regardless. If a duo partner can D/C and save their friend and take turns why the hell wouldn't you.

I think losing mmr is one of the most psychologically damaging aspects of ladder play.

Something like losing 5 in a row, "suddenly" your teammates are roaming or not cooperating, and then you just turn into an angry potato.

I am just trying to place and out of the 7 games I have played, 3 had someone not even connect! No wonder I can't get wins.
