Perspective changes from being an unranked leprechaun to gold 5 scrub

Once upon a time I remember playing a normal game and there was a shaco on the enemy team who raped the pee out of our team and had like 25 kills but we won anyways. I looked him up and noticed that he was bronze 5. I was unranked at the time. I figured ranked must be another level of play since bronze 5 is beyond shit yet this shaco could rape us in normals.

I played my first placements on my first account (now perma-banned (blush)) and everyone was pissed at the shitty warwick with tiamet and i must have lost like 9 or something cuz I got placed in Bronze 3! Then I spent like 6 months playing before I became silver. Lots of people in silver call each other bronze as an insult because they're proud to be silver. Silver is amazing to bronze players. Silver is considered freaking good by most bronze. Then I spent along ass time playing in silver and finally got to gold after like a year.

Most people in gold 5 are just fucking around and don't get mad if they win or lose cuz they feel like they have no potential to climb higher. I put myself in this category. I feel like I'm a pretty bad player. I'm like 30% off the top or something. Maybe if I could count on myself to hit Q more consistently, or if I had the stomach to play yasuo I could climb higher. I'm just kind of satisfied having reached gold and take it as a consolation as the higher I climbed the more I realize how fucking bad I am.

I can't relate to ranked differences because I'm Gold 1 and when in normals I get paired with people anywhere from Unranked to Diamond (which I'm fine with), and there isn't a difference. Ill see mid lane diamond guy roflstomp a plat while my gold ass is 3/0 against their Diamond.

And this isn't just because of Dynamic boost or whatever you blame it on, its always been like this.

Last I checked, (few months ago), Silver V was where the average player was ranked, and Gold V and up were in the top ~30% of players so I don't think you should consider yourself bad. At least, if you're comparing yourself to the average.
