Ranked Restriction System is a failure for the most part in my opinion.
I guess i'll start by telling my story first.
Been playing sense mid season 2, came back to LOL after hiatus due to college and all that fun stuff, so when the new system was initiated i got administered chat ban plus ranked restriction of like 40 games. I'm like yeah that was probably warranted... even though i still I have complaints about the ideas behind it i'll get to that later.
SO i completed that, acted properly, rarely talked. Finally i get to play ranked( my fav. game mode), played about 14 games or so mainly to get my placement series done. well basically the hammer came down again! a bigger chat restriction but a lower ranked restriction of 30 something games.
Now that seriously pissed me off as first of all, I didn't get hardly prove anything not only in ranked but also from the learning experience of the first restriction. 14 games IS way too small of a sample to issue another restriction.
So here are my issues with this new system:
-
Doesn't tell you what you exactly got punished for/nor no proof. I'll admit i didn't like the tribunal system HOWEVER it at least gave you proof of where you screwed up so there was little to no argument. Plus, it allows a pool of people to judge you. With this system, there's no show of proof and where you screwed up, so it just leaves you in the dark. How does one learn if they don't even know what they are exactly being punished for?

The length... I think this is relatively obvious, but now this ranked restriction has pros/cons. I mean you still get to play on your account and all, but the problem is that you have to WIN those normal draft games. Riot should realize that this is a serious grind and especially when i just recently completed the grind getting hit with another is not cool. It honestly takes more time to do this than the regular day bans.
*For example, with my first ban of 40 games, honestly this is going to be at least 70+ games....... LOL really needs to reevaluate and consider is this really a good thing we are doing? This almost rivals a 14-day ban entirely for the avg player.
3)Fosters more toxicity. Players like me who see this ranked restriction more than once will only get more frustrated over time and just be even angry and upset with Riot. The system doesn't entirely make sense and backfires.
-
Makes normal draft games more stressful/toxic for both those who are restricted from ranked and those just playing for fun. Those who are playing for fun might piss off those who seriously want to win each game so they can complete the restriction as quick as possible. This only fosters more reports and negativity.

Players quitting LOL permanently. I have considered a few times to really quit LOL, but seriously this new system may be the final coffin for me if this is reoccurring. Riot, this is your solution? Force players to just quit because you can't handle this any other way? That shows you just did a horrible job and didn't rehabilitate players. (most of the blame goes on the player, but still im just arguing this point in a practical sense)

Punishment doesn't fit the crime. Now this point may be highly subjective.... and im sure i'll get grilled for that, but I don't afk, feed, troll, purposely screw up champ select, i never surrender, refuse to communicate...work with the team to win.... You're restricting this game mode because I might have said something wrong or may have come off a bit annoying? that's it? doesn't that sound like a chat restriction would suffice?
Please critique and give your thoughts. Please show me some of the positive aspects of the system as I would like to see a different viewpoint. Also, post some improvements riot could do!
