Hey guys im new to leauge of legends (level 19). Now the only thing i have played so far is support. I bought thresh and i like him alot, so its not that i dont like support its just kinda boring. Im on vacation for thanksgiving break and have benn thinking, wow support is really boring. Right before i left i played a riven my very last game and saw that she looked like an insanely fun champ. For the last week 3 days i have watched boxbox and other people play riven and i think i would love playing her. But the thing is ive never done anything other then support. I really want to buy her but my friend and other threads say dont buy her. Another problam is i am able to buy runes in half a level amd have 3000 ip. So do i save up for riven or do i buy runes. Anything will help thanks.

If u have mechanics to play thresh, Riven shouldnt be problem. Thresh is one of hardest supports/champions to play, if u master him ,u can master anything/

Do you have ANY idea how difficult it is to pull out crazy mechanical plays with Thresh? To deny dashes? To position lantern properly? Doing lantern pull /flash/hook plays? To deny multi people engages with just one flay? To do crazy madlife predict hooks? Thresh is not just hook someone he is dead- you are confusing him with Blitzcrank. If you dont play with smartcast its almost impossible, if you do its extremely hard. Im not talking about silver level of plays where opponents have reactions of dead cow to avoid hook. I am talking about REAL mechanics, where you predict movement/dashes/flash. Trust me, its not as easy as you think.

Its not that i cant play her its if i should. Shes obviously hated by the community so having seconds thoughts

Play what you want. Ask any teemo or shaco player, having fun is better than being liked by imaginary people on the internet.

Only buy the teir 3 runes. Everything else is worthless. Riven is a fun champion. She is always one of the hardest and easiest champions in the game. It's hard to explain. If you only supported though you might be better off picking a mid champion seeing as how they are closer related than a melee champion.

If you ever played Thresh, have you ever caught Lee Sin mid Sonic wave jump on your ADC that has 5% hp? Have you ever flayed Tristana that rocket jumps over wall and in same time hook her when he flashes over after rocket jump failed? Have you ever performed Death Sentence on Drake + lantern on your ally so fast and so precise? Have you ever flayed 5 people into your ultimate walls twice in a row? Have you ever done lantern on your jungler, in same time as he clicks, flash and death sentence on enemy carry, all of that in split second? Thats proper level of play.

Support is boring? You are literally a champion so strong that you can't have real items. Not to mention you get to force feed your team until they are so fat that they eat barons for brunch.
