Why don't some abilities get blocked by tower?

Some of abilities should be blocked by Towers makes no sense that they aren't.

Well like projectiles of course, the kind of stuff that Yasuo wall will block. Like Nidalee's Q as an example, or Caitlyn's R. This stuff should be blocked by that big tower that we have.
