Why am I skipping divisions?

Recently I've reached platinum 3, a very important milestone for me in my league of legends legacy because I was stuck in Gold 5 last season. However, I'm concerned with riot's system, not because I'm upset I skipped plat 4, I am, but because I don't believe I should have skipped plat 4. My win ratio in play 5 was about 56% at best (maybe higher, not 100% sure), I went on a 5 losing streak and I died A lot in those streaks. However because I was gaining 28 Lp per win and 12 lp per loss, getting to promos was easy. In promos I went 2 win 0 losses and jumped plat 5 to Plat 3. I'm just kinda stumped that I jumped divisions like that, anyone have any ideas?

In very rare occasions, it's possible to be promoted twice after one Series, due to having a high MMR. For instance, someone in Gold V that duo queues often with his/her friend in Platinum III might have an unusually high MMR due to the players that he/she is matched against. As a result, his/her MMR may be 1 or 2 divisions higher than the average MMR of their current division. After winning their Promotion Series, there is a possibility that he/she may be promoted twice. Dodging queues may also, to a smaller degree, affect the difference between your MMR and LP (-3LP per first dodge of the day, -10 thereafter).

also this season the required mmr that it takes has been condensed into a matter where it is technically easier to level up into different tiers.
