I just came out of a game where my teams ranks were: 3 of us were Gold, 1 of us was Silver, and another was unranked. Meanwhile the enemy team had 2 Platinums, a Diamond 1, a Master 1, and a Gold 5. Exactly what kind of matchmaking decided to pair our teams together? Why rito why.. 
I think the problem is that the people who don't usually play Team Builder suddenly are just to try the new SR, and I believe that Team Builder only adjusts your matchmaking if you used a champion in team builder often, and since these people don't play it often, the system thinks they're new to their champion and matches them with other people who are new to their champion.
