Malzahar's rise to glory

I don't know about you guys, but Malzahar is becoming an increasingly safe and destructive pick in this meta. Where we stand now the champions who are dominating are all high mobility dive champions (Lissandra, Kennen, Kalista, Katarina, Zed, Riven, etc.) and Malzahar completely destroys these champions because he has:

2.5 second suppression that is point and click, has an okay range, and has high base damage and very high scaling.

In addition to his E, another point and click ability that also has very high base damage and more high scaling.

Additionally, never underestimate a silence, especially a 3 second silence that is Aoe and has long range. While it may be a little difficult to land the reward for landing it basically crushes the champs who function with spells and mobility abilities.

Don't even get me started on his W. The amount of times people neglect the W damage (even in Platinum 3) is hilarious because dealing 15% max health per second melts them in no time.

Overall: because of nerfs to his counters (namely Syndra, and other long range champions) Malzahar is excelling currently, and I suggest you guys start playing him because he's current freelo. (6 wins 0 losses in ranked atm). Malzahar

Can we please stop this thread right now before people read it and decide to go play Malzahar. >.> trying to keep all the elo for myself

He isn't "freelo" by any means.

To begin with a counter arguement, and I -SHOULD- have a say to this, because I have mained Malz up from S2 till last season, getting achievements like 13 best Malz NA or whatever.

Malz is easily ganked, his pushing power is destructive. ANY good jungler will camp his lane because his passive and E are passively lane pushers. Not only that, he's very easy to predict. If he's walking toward you, dodge the Q or W and his E R combo won't kill you. I've see SO MUCH people instalock Malz in ranked and I get a free counter to them, like Morg, Cass or Vel'koz.

No way is he freelo, but he IS a t1 solo queue mid laner.

Malz has always been a very strong champion, I mained him in season 3 and was 184-112(62.2% win). People really under estimate him because he has no escapes, can't move while ulting, and his ult suppression can be stopped with QSS(his ult continues until you move out of range). His skills are amazing though and he's the best anti bruiser/tank mage in the game. People think he's supposed to kill carries and they run into a fight and die, but that's wrong, his job is to melt the enemy tank and bruisers using Null Zone. In so many of my games the enemy tank would lead and rush into my team, but I'd just combo them and instantly kill their tank/initiator and then my team turns around and wins a 5v4 fight. My team was always as surprised as the enemies, I got harassed a lot for picking Malz.

you know, i main malz and he brought me from sliver 5 to silver 1 last season in 2 days. he can itemize to fit needs and still do damage. I only started playing him because i thought he had the best dance in game. Then i found out his damage is real. I wish i had a skin :/

His Space Aids are literally cancer (figuratively speaking). After a certain point he just needs to get in range of the minion wave for half a second to automatically farm all of them.

Other than that, he's kinda meh, though his ult can be aggravating sometimes (though I do not tend to play melee types unless I'm the tank)

As Nasus, Mal is a super pain, and he makes it incredibly difficult to engage enemy teams with him silencing me and doing high magic damage.
