Vlad's Ultimate Is Overloaded

I don't want to make this a QQ thread but then again, every thread complaining about a champion sorta is. Recently i've seen vladimir being played lot and while its nice to see him back, I do have some complaints. I fully understand Vlad's strengths and weaknesses and how to counter him, but ultimately(no pun intended) his ult is flat out absurd. Not only does it scale incredibly well (doing near 1500 dmg late game), it also is a huge instant AoE that can be plopped down on your entire team whilst boosting incoming damage. My main issue is that an ult like this should not nearly insta killing squishy carries while being a safe and hard to counter proc. Vlad is already hard to deal with but when a 2/8 vlad can be more useful than your 14/5 ahri, things are a little awkward.

TLDR: Vlads ult is incredibly easy to hit and deals nearly three times the damage is should. Its like a fully stacked zed ult on your entire team while having no warning and limited counterplay. The burst itself wins the team fight not to mention the obnoxious bonus dmg to all targets. Vlad's practically a one man army.

Vlad counters champions like Zed, Darius, and Yasuo very well. I assume that these are your major choices. You're complaints should fall on very deaf ears.

His Ultimate does 150-450 damage, like an execute, and merely amplifies his damage by 15% towards that champion. Even with lots of AP, Vlad's ratios are moderate. He's more DoT mage than a simple burst mage. Vlad has to wait 5 seconds to deal the damage his ult does is an eternity in League, so it very well is balanced. Couple that with it's extremely long cooldown.

Hemoplague RANGE: 700 / 175 COOLDOWN: 150 / 135 / 120 ACTIVE: Vladimir infects all enemies in the target area with a virulent plague that increases the damage they take from all sources by 12% for 5 seconds. After these 5 seconds, infected enemies take magic damage. AMPLIFIED MAGIC DAMAGE: 168 / 280 / 392 (+ 78.4% AP)

So even with, say, 400 AP. Vlad's damage doesn't exceed 705 damage, before resistances, and to a fully, and correct, built Zed, it may just do 300-400 damage.

Your argument is that, compared to Zed, is like a fully built Zed, however, Zed<Vlad when it comes to 1v1. That's just how it works. Zed can execute Ahri really well, but he can't execute Vlad as easily. 1400 damage is an overstatement.

This wasn't a bad thread because you said a champion was good. This was a bad thread because you said this champion was only overloaded. Vlad should win against people like Zed and Darius, because he just has the counter play to do it. There exists so many different items than even Soraka building item 3139 and item 3153 would be enough to solo him. Learn to counter play and don't ask for champion nerfs due to your lack of knowledge of the game.

Overloaded

Ok, if Vlad's ultimate is overloaded, what is normal? Its delayed damage with a damage amp before the damage happens. How simple are we going here?

if you think vlad ult is overloaded then you think zed ult is overloaded same principle both dumpstered by qss zhonya

It literally does 2 things. Damage and amps damage from all sources, that's as simple as it gets. Your definition of overloaded is rather lacking. Also, it is never, ever going to do beyond 1000 damage. Where you're getting 1500 damage I have no clue.

It doesn't do that much damage even with 1000 AP In fact, it's scaling is less than even Annie's Q or W.

The parts don't merge well together and appear similar to other spells. For example, everybody is bringing up Death Mark (since they're both delayed damage spells that can be cleansed off), despite the fact they are still very different from each other in terms of usage and damage boosts (% of damage dealt vs takes increased damage).

If the damage portion of the spell happened first (numbers increased to compensate the fact it won't be amplified), and then it applies the debuff, I think it'd be a good deal less confusing, at least.

tl;dr no it isnt
