Top Lane Terror: Smite/TP Strategy with Balls and Jack

Ok so I been seeing a lot of people running top lane with smite, and now hearing about it made me start to question trying it. Then I was reading the comments and saw people say try it on support it probably work great on leona. I only tried it on a few games but it does seem pretty broken as far as a big power spike in supports. I tried it with flash and smite . Then exhaust and smite. I found exhaust and chilling smite on leona is extremely annoying combo with her stuns to almost any enemy I ran into. Plus on top of that it helps take objectives and annoy the enemy jungle with added pressure. I was hoping some more people would try this out or something similar as far as support. Let me and everybody else know how it goes and your thoughts.

Its pretty niche, and very risky. Supports are gold starved already. By buying an early machete upgrade, you're either delaying your Sightstone, or your gold item upgrade. Without exhaust, you can't stop their adc from doing max damage to yours, while yours is doing reduced damaged to theirs. Without flash, you HAVE to go balls deep, because you don't have any option to flee otherwise.

Its not BAD, it just doesn't seem optimal.

But.. Why would you buy machete first? You could for example buy cinder first. Or face of the mountain and smite-heal.

Not necessarily first, but you do have to buy it very early. Because otherwise, you're not getting the full value from having smite, which entirely defeats the purpose. And machete + its upgrade is still an 850 gold investment. Unless you get very fed, that means putting off either sightstone or your gold generation item's next level till later.

Sigh.. I really wish Supports were getting as much gold as Top/Mid/ADC..

Why the hell 1 player [support] always has to starve and cry whenever he buys 1 ward..

This is so freaking badly designed imo.. Maybe that's why i prefer ARAMs, where every champion can use its full potential without limits..

I thought you were talking about the game "Smite" when I saw the title lol.

Long before Cinderhulk was a thing, Krepo was playing Flash/Chilling Smite Thresh. He'd Q at a minion, smite it, and (hopefully) land the hook. He admitted it wasn't optimal or meta, but definitely viable.

i personally started relic shield then upgraded that first. depending on how far ahead we were i bought machete and upgrade it on 2nd back. if were doing bout even or being pressured a lot i got sight stone second. with upgraded relic as 1st upgrade i got gold pretty quick with cs and assist.

Stalker's Blade as an upgrade is like an Exhaust on a much shorter CD. I'd consider it if I wasn't sure I'd get berated to a pulp for 'trolling'.
