Didn't realize caitlyn's identity was all about tilting the other team with traps

For a long time now, Riot's been going on about how they want to "push a champion's identity" when it's not explicitly clear or concise. two perfect examples are when they doubled down on graves's "get up right in their face and blast their head off" or corki's hybrid damage.

So how did we get here with Caitlyn's traps being this way? She was played in all five games of CLG vs TSM, and in all five games those traps were DISGUSTING in their versatile and effectiveness. Is it because she's supposed to be all about sieging? or zoning? Because if that's the case I always thought it was suppose to be through her range, not things she places on the ground. To be frank, those traps looks 100x more infuriating and a pain to deal with than her range.

Combine her range and traps...you got yourself a zoning queen...trust me your matchup is gonna be looking for you when they see those traps...

I just started playing her alot recently because of her seiging both offensively and defensively. And yea with a slight buff awhile ago emphasizing how they think you should max traps second instead of net showed how they tried to emphasize her traps

It is not an unpopular choice to even max traps first these days, the zoning potential plus the extra damage on them is a pretty big deal.

They need to limit it to 3 traps out at a time after these games

not to mention with the multiple buffs shes strong both early and late game. late game caitlyn is just as hard to kill as a late game jinx. get a cpl lifesteal items and shes harder to kill than a 5k health ulting alistar. and you better be ready for these 4 figure crits.

An ADC with a few lifesteal items is going to be harder to kill than a full tank Alistar who's ult negates 70% of damage taken for 7 seconds? Yea ok

good luck bursting her down if you don't have a fed assassin. she has range to be safe. what I meant if you want to kill a tank. you can focus them as they are the frontline. sure you might lose the team fight eventually. but good luck diving an adc that gets 100-200 health back per shot. especially if they have some sort of shields. very hard to dive her with her range with a good frontline. am not saying which can be bursted faster. but am talking in team fight sense. how will you kill a caitlyn with 6 items if you don't have some crazy hard engage and an adc that our dps her. which only few adcs can. probably just a jinx with few stacks on her passive maybe. if she gets the resets and the head shots i think she might be the strongest 1v1 adc. I mean even as a tanky graves I get 3 shotted by a caitlyn by the time i get in my auto range am near dead

Thats becasue they gave Jhin her niche as the long range sniper adc.

The goal with her ADC rework was to refocus her towards being THE premier seiging ADC (in hindsight this was likely because Jhin would later become the Sniper-ADC). The traps were the way Riot chose to go about it. The traps themselves aren't REALLY the main worry, it's the enhanced passive headshot they give that is where the real boo-boos come in.
