I cannot stand this "never surrender" fucking 4 year old mentallity.

22/4 jax full fucking items and is 1v5ing our entire team with item 1419 item 3078 item 3508 item 3026 item 3153 item 3111 every single time he even see's us at 26 minutes. I have a pantheon jungle with 70 cs and a mid lane ekko thats 1/9. Nah, lets continue to fucking vote no even though 1 of their teammates is whipping all 5 of us with ease because Essence reaver makes his E go on a god damn 2 second cooldown and he's busy hopping from unit to unit with no actual cooldown, and can't fucking die because of all the free stat his ult gives.

No, lets continue wasting more fucking time and holding me hostage because you're 1/7 on support morgana. Go fuck yourself.

It is getting out of hand, im convinced people refuse to surrender just to tilt teammates. There should be an option to quit the match if its majority votes

Poro Lord9/1/2018, 7:47:49 AM20 votes

You need to specify Ranked, or Not Ranked

In Not Ranked, I will FF 50% of the time. I don't really care.

In ranked I 100% will not surrender.

The longer the game goes, the better the chances the behind team gets a lucky team fight.

If you stall till X minutes, its a coin flip.

Whoever wins next team fight wins game.

That 30-2-12 Master Yi fucks up, gets stunned, and dies. GG you just won.

Ratio of games won when players who never surrender refuse to surrender: 70%

Ratio of games won when players are denied a surrender: 40%

Yes I just made that up.

Why the discrepancy? Because, summoners that undermine their team decrease the chance of winning in hard to play scenarios while summoners who encourage their team and try to win can increase their chance of winning. The gap between the two widens depending on the elo, because lower elos cannot judge when a game is truly lost. The bulk of the playerbase falls into this category.

I've seen far too many players go 0/2 in lane and then cry about people refusing to surrender, when their team is 21/22

Horse Grenades9/1/2018, 1:15:31 PM13 votes

You have a lot of toxic posts. In all seriousness, are you ok?

Summonah123699/1/2018, 9:49:49 AM9 votes

Tbh I'm more mad when our team is getting a lil wrecked but we still have a huge chance at winning but my team decides to ff against my will. It's infuriating.

statelesskiller9/1/2018, 2:57:50 PM7 votes

i ususally have a never surrender mentality. i assure you its not based on any 4 year old mentality for me. and theres alot of reasons for it

no matter how fed someone is, they are still a human. and they can still make a mistake. its up to you to capitalize on it. and if they are insanely fed you getting a kill on them equals a TON of gold for your team

remember that the entire enemy team is also still human and that they are capable of macro level mistakes that can overall help you win

once the game hits a certain point. how much gold you have becomes irrelevant. who cares how many kills you have when everyone is at 6 items.

and them im sure theres more that i could come up with if i didnt need to go to work. surrendering just because things are tough prevents you from growing as a player, because learning to play from behind is a IMPORTANT skill that everyone needs to know. regardless of ELO

Herlgar9/1/2018, 1:29:44 PM6 votes

Well, that's why it's a vote. I'll surrender if the game really isn't fun or I'm getting bored. Otherwise I'll keep playing even if I'm losing, because if I consider every lost game wasted time then this really isn't the game for me, considering there should pretty much be 50% chance I lose going into the game, and I know this. You guys are really dishing out harsh judgements on people seriously, maybe they just want to keep playing their dumb video game in peace. If you take it this seriously just leave; it's not your teammates "holding you hostage", it's yourself and the game.

Just had a game we were 4 to 19 at one point.

We won

VexingRaven9/1/2018, 6:11:33 PM6 votes

If the 22/4 Jax 1v5ing hasn't managed to win at 26 minutes, somebody is obviously doing something wrong. He should end in minutes, so at MOST you're wasting a couple minutes, boo hoo. If you don't surrender and he hasn't manage to win by the next few minutes, he's so terrible you probably shouldn't surrender because there's still a chance. There's little benefit to surrendering here, because at worst you lose a few more minutes of time, at best Jax fucks up (because he's clearly a terrible player if he hasn't won yet with that lead) and you ace them and end the game.

But Fairy Tail taught me NAKAMA POWER!

PowerSlave9939/1/2018, 12:10:42 PM5 votes

There are 2 kind of people who deny surrender:

  1. They think you can still win against great odds, 5% chances you actually are going to win. So waste of a time.
  2. They want to tilt everyone else and waste not just your time but theirs as well.

Early 15 minute surrender is a joke, almost never it succeed because of 4:1 vote.

Whole system needs a rework to prevent these things.

Criomhthann9/1/2018, 1:53:16 PM5 votes

They have 24 kills, we have 6 kills.

They have an even kill distribution across their team, we have 2 people with kills, and 2 people who are feeding, one who isn't doing either.

They have destroyed 2 inhibs, have taken 2 dragons, and rift herald. We haven't gotten any towers.

it's only been 13 minutes. Surrender vote comes up and the feeding Lux says "but what if they disconnect" and votes no.

The only upside was that the opposing team had the sense to end the game before 15 minutes.

Meep Man9/2/2018, 12:14:35 AM5 votes

I cannot understand this "fuck us, its over at the 5 minute mark" fucking 4 year old mentality that makes people give up and make the enemy Jax get 22 kills. There's a tails to every coin with heads.

Blyted9/1/2018, 4:58:03 AM5 votes

Just had a game where bot lane died 12 times by 10 mins and refused to FF.

A couple of days ago had a bot lane feed Vayne 8 kills by 12 mins that refused to FF

I won't rage at you for feeding, but at least have the decency to FF when it is clearly over.

Sauronkaiser9/1/2018, 12:08:39 PM4 votes

This "4 years old mentallity" its maybe the main reason i got diamond. Never surrender is probably the best tip you can give to a player. Always you have 5 ppl in your team trying to win, doesnt matter how bad they´re playing, you CAN win. Its not like you have an afk or a troll.

Glory979/1/2018, 12:13:15 PM4 votes

There are indeed people who don't surrender a lost game and they are annoying indeed, But sadly there are just as many people, who mentally surrender when they get ganked twice and go 0/2. The game is anything but lost, the chances for victory aren't bad. But they've already give up, they just spamm ff in chat, completly ruin the game experience for the rest of their team, and in the end they loose because they are not even trying to win. Of course in their opinion the game was lost at minute 5, (because they tilted when they went 0/2). And their whole team is just a bunch of idiots who try to trap them ingame.

SwiftKitten889/1/2018, 4:57:37 AM4 votes

there are times not to surrender...

and there are games where the enemy coudl win at any time but then choose to "play with thier food" with you until you reach a point you can actually turn it around.

but.. yeah. IMO if your onyl chance at winning depends on them actively choosing not to end the game. i say surrender.

the way damage creep is.. there is drastically less "outplay potential" when dealing with a fed opponent.

4 years ago... saying "never surrender" WAS good advise you literally COULD turn around an insane about of games were u were incredibly behind.

but that advise isn't going to work anymore. not with how the game is now.

i mean 4 years ago was a VERY different game (and MUCH better) than we have now.

im not going to say riot hasn't made improvements in many area, visual, draft pick, a limited number of reworks like Poppy Urgot Warwick ...
(there are other i personally think were good like Galio ,Gangplank, Nunu but that are my opinions rather than me basing them factual evidence)

but when solely taking about balance and how much FUN it was to play.. no season was better than season 4.

and when you take into account balance.. which ultimately decides when u can when and u should surrender... acting as if the advise from season 4 is still valid.. really isn't the best idea.

Who cares what you think. Ragequit and get reported for it or flame and get reported for it.

Dracocrash9/1/2018, 9:47:14 PM3 votes

lol boohoo my team made me play for 5 more minutes boohoo

KETSU09/1/2018, 10:11:36 PM3 votes

i hate players who give up easily so forget you

FirewaterDM9/1/2018, 6:49:54 AM3 votes

Normal or with friends i'll surrender.

Ranked i'm not going to especially in promos, like IF you caused the L, gotta finish it with the rest of us.

Quort9/1/2018, 4:37:28 PM3 votes

I’ll surrender if I believe there’s very little to no chance of winning, but I often refuse surrender votes because so many allies just want to surrender instantly as soon as things start getting tough. It really goes both ways... know when to surrender but also know when to suggest surrendering!

Steel Cyclone9/1/2018, 2:02:57 PM3 votes

Sunk Fallacy.

NA players are literally the worst lol ofc.

CorpseFire9/2/2018, 6:00:14 AM3 votes

I don't surrender

hhaavviikk9/1/2018, 6:51:20 AM3 votes

score is 3-31 in nexus blitz, team refuses to surrender, FUCKIN WOT, if you refuse to surrender at that score then you're just delusional

Pika Fox9/1/2018, 2:07:32 PM2 votes

You arent being held hostage. You queued under your own volition.

Also, if jax is full build, why surrender? Jax is only going to get weaker as your team gets more gold. If they havnt ended the game yet, you have a larger chance of winning than you claim.

Unironic SJW9/1/2018, 1:19:46 PM2 votes

there are times when a seemingly lost game looks winnable and its correct to not surrender (you have a scaling comp, you have a comp that can win any teamfight, your tanks/bruisers are feeding but your carries have items/are playing well so they can potentially carry one teamfight to swing the game around)

90% of the time, people refuse to FF because they're stubborn and want to prove their manhood even though they're clearly playing poorly, or that they're not seeing how fundamentally uncoordinated the team is and people are constantly going in 1v4 or 2v5 (honestly that's the biggest marker for when you should surrender - when you have people repeatedly trying to 1v4 or overextend for picks without vision because that's when you know you're not just behind, your teammates flat out suck and outside of putting a high high (high diamond+) elo player into that situation, you have a very low chance of winning that game)

stone the blacks9/1/2018, 12:48:18 PM2 votes

i only apply never surrender when someone is toxic, that includes the pettiest of things aswell

Athenes Lulu9/1/2018, 6:19:13 PM1 votes

If it's low elo shit like gold/silver people fuck up and throw games all the time no matter the lead.

BACK OFF MY LANE9/1/2018, 5:25:58 PM1 votes

Don't get me wrong, I know a lost cause when I see it, I surrender when we have no chance. But in this scenario I also wouldn't surrender. Jax falls off pretty hard. And between Panth, ekko, and Morg you guys could stun lock him and beat him down. Plus since it's 26 minutes it would be at most another 10 before the rest of your team(maybe not 70 cs pantheon) is full build, then its an even playing ground. And lets not forget that sexy, sexy shut down gold. I think that game would be winnable right up until an enemy baron play
