Question about the new stat shards

Can you please make them not adaptive? It feels bad when playing a hybrid champion to be locked into AP early when you may want to build something like a doran's shield or corrupting pot. Or if you are in the jungle and literally can't even start with an AD item. Is there any reason that the start absolutly have to be adapative? I don't see how it offers any advantage over just letting people pick the stat they want. It just limits builds.
