Dear Riot: A suggestion for fixing match making times.

Ok so we know that the problem with matchmaking times being so long is that not enough people are wanting to play the less then fun role of Support. Riot instead of trying to add in this auto-fill thing. Have you considered buffing the Support Role as a whole? Making it more fun and actually give Supports carry gold. If you change the Support Role as a whole and make it more fun to play more people would be drawn to it. You could start making more Support champions, you could make it so that Supports actually earn equal gold when with their lane partner. Or give Supports a way to earn gold themselves that doesn't include jungle camps or lane minions.

How should this work, without getting abused by solo laners or tactics like 5 "supports" midlane.

Supports HAVE 'a way to earn gold themselves that doesn't include jungle camps or lane minions': their support items. No matter what you do, the support role is always fundamentally about playing second fiddle. You're there to help your team succeed, and that's not something that appeals to a lot of players. Queue times are a problem, but replacing the support role with a second mid or top would create a lot more problems than it would solve.
