Lucian the New Cait?
It seems to me that Lucian is the new Caitlyn. IE: I'm not a strong adc, I'll just pick Lucian.
Is it just me or do other people think so?

Nope. I'd assume if you're not a strong ADC you should still pick Ezreal or Caitlyn. If you bring Lucian and you don't know how to play, the lane will 100% be a result of how good your support is.
why in the fuck would you pick Ezreal if you don't know how to AD oh god why
Because you build Gauntlet and never die. Dying a lot is the very worst thing you can do as an ADC. No, you're not going to win lane like you automatically do with Caitlyn, but you're not going to lose lane.
An inexperienced Lucian will dash right into the enemy support and instantly die. Then blame his Thresh for not following up with him. An inexperienced Ezreal will chill back and farm all day and wait for ganks.
Not sure Ez is good pick for people who are weak at ADC role since he is heavily skill shot reliant and is probably harder than Lucian to master. Cait is still the safe pick though and even better than before with her traps (no they don't do damage and shes weaker output-wise, but the zoning she can do with 5 traps makes her safer to play)
Lucian is picked a lot right now because, while not the strongest, he doesn't have any major weaknesses in the current meta right now AND hes been getting a lot of air time on the pro scene so people think he's a pick and go champ
(did anyone else think the that "IE" was Infinity Edge and had to read it twice to understand?)
Lucian is harder to play.
True just because Caitlyn is so bad rn, but Lucian has some nuances that make him far less effective when being put in an unexperienced players hands.
