Am I just an autist or are bruisers fucking hard to pick up?

So I feel like I need some more options when I play top lane. I want to learn to play hard carries. I've played a couple normals with fiora, renekton, and darius. None of them went well at all and my normals mmr is playing with total scrubs cuz all i use normals for is dicking around with funny builds or learning new champs. I usually play marksmen or mages or assassins. Anyone else kinda struggle learning this class of champions? Any advice?

First off -- picking up a different class and completely different playstyle than what you are used to is extremely difficult to do especially going from scratch to a gold+ level. You are used to playing squishy range damage dealers that can kite and never get close to their enemy. This is COMPLETELY different with bruisers.

Secondly -- Darius and Renekton are fine on your list but if you're looking to pick up the class I personally don't recommend picking up Fiora first. I've played top lane for a while and she has been my main champ this season. Even with all the practice; I'm still not that great with her.

man i just enjoy some time away from the team in top lane sometimes and all i play is teemo top. i feel like if i could kind of "master" a champ like jayce or rene maybe it would be easier to get to diamond someday than having teeto as my only option especially with all the teemo raping lethality floating around...and eve is really my only good jungle but it looks like she will be reworked soon and the mastery changes are also going to hurt her... so it kinda feels bad to have my champ pool rn.

neither, you likely just don't understand what it means to play a bruiser

Watch solo renekton only on youtube SRO , he'll teach you the ways

thanks. I like watching streamers and have learned a lot from some of them.

I totally can't play bruisers. I'm so bad at them, but that said, a couple games on a champion won't make you good with them so you should probably play some more and practice

Not all bruisers are the same playstyle-wise. If you're used to playing assassins/marksmen, you should give Gnar, Kled, or even Jayce a try. Irelia might fit your style, but she takes more time to learn than most bruisers. Xin and Pantheon could work as well. J4 can build like an assassin or tanky.
