Why the League System at its Core Doesn't Work

It doesn't matter if my team won or lost in this individual game.

The fact is if I'm playing at a high gold to low plat level (I'm getting about 25-30 LP a win) then it should put me in a high gold to low plat league. If I was actually playing vs silver level players then it'd probably be a lot easier to climb solo. If my actual league has no impact on the match maker then we should just dispense with it altogether and bring back the ELO/MMR system.

Obviously this is just to secure end-of-season rewards while early season 7 on SR figures itself out; but it's getting to the point where 75% of my games involve both teams dogging on me for my current rank regardless of how I play. Do I make an objective call, nope I don't know anything because I'm just a silver player. When I get invaded or ganked I've had allies legitimately tell me they didn't trust me to follow up because of my rank. I've had people post game tell me they'd like to duo because I played really well but don't want to drag their MMR down.

It's hard to stay positive about playing this game when everyone is just so obsessed with such an inaccurate title.

I hate the system too where the MMR doesnt match your tier/division and lags behind. To compensate it rarely moves people up, but rather attempts to drag you down so if you go on a winning streak it'll give you shitter 20% winrate players to try to "even it out"

so basically remove the LP system and go back to the old ELO system.

ELO was in fact great, but it left people questioning how they went from silver 1 what they earned and struggled for months to get, back down to bronze 1 over one rampant night of feeding.

#what it all boils down to is it left people falling too quickly and it left people feeling awful

not enough people rapidly climbed or played enough to warrant them going up to plat+ where they do in fact belong.

It does compensate by allowing people to skip. In flex my trio were S4, G5, and G3. we all skipped and our S4 skipped from S4->S3-> straight to Gold. If you deserve to be higher then you will be. It will let you skip multiple divisions if you are good enough. Im getting 29lp a game and our silver was getting 33lp

Amen. I take such massive LP hits on losses that it boils my blood to hear people say "get good." You don't have talent unless you've carried a team full of Bronze 5 bait-chasers to victory with a utility built Zilean. I'm supposed to believe you're talented because you won a game in Platinum? Why? Because your team gets basic mechanics and works together?

Get out of my bronze 5 face. I wouldn't care about brackets at all if they didn't have rewards associated with them.

And the kicker? The kicker to the whole damn thing is that people always say "here are the champs to climb out of bronze with." I mean they fully admit it's not talent that brings you out. They admit it's not skill, or logic that brings you out.

No, it's playing an exploitative champ until they fix it next patch until you're in class with people who took the time to skim a guide once in their lives.

All this is to say - I should be given Victorious Skins for running clinics down in the B5 for weeks on end. Weeks!
