@Riot Gangplank is like old Nidalee all over again

Alright, this is just kinda wrong. Everyone remembers old Nidalee, right? The anthrax coated spears that would chunk away nearly all your hp trough the use of a low cooldown basic ability. Ya, it's happening again but with Gangplank. Building critical strike on him offers extremely low counterplay for many champions, and is unhealthy for the game. I've attached an image of the most recent game I've had with a Critplank and if you could just take a look at the numbers there; using a basic ability Gankplank would more often than not deal 3675 damage to enemies with a modified auto attack. Not a skillshot, but a quick firing, ranged autoattack that when fired can not be reacted to. Riot I know you're very busy with other things but this needs to be dealt with if you're serious about improving game health; you did an excellent job with Nidalee and I think you could do the same for the saltwater scourge.

You forget 2 important things about Nidalee: Range & Mobility

Well regardless even if it isn't as unhealthy as Nidalee it's still horrid. Nobody should not be able to oneshot the squishies and three shot the tanks.

I think you're forgetting that actual ranged ADC's can crit for almost as much every autoattack, and they don't need to get close to finish you off like gangplank does.

Try Gangplank vs Ashe. Ashe ults, you die. And if her ult is down she can just W, move back, W, move back, W, move back, then guaranteed crit auto to kill you.

But even then look at what you just said. w, w, w, w, w, one shot. GP was oneshot, no complications required.

You're right. The numbers don'e lie. Beaten out on damage to champs by Poppy and Ahri. Only 9 kills, but 31 assists despite being able to crit for over 3600. Largest killing spree of 2. Largest multikill of 1. But man, he sure could murder those minions.

It doesn't mater if he got the kills, what maters is he chunked our squishies down to the point of needing to flat out retreat with one auto. All these other examples people are bringing up is comparing apples to oranges. Ya, Ahri and Poppy did more damage but that was through all their skills and meaningful interactions. GP practically walked up to anyone and took out nearly all their health, not killing them but making it so they would die if they engaged.

Gangplank is the least of all problems in league right now. If anything he needs buffs. Leave the pirate alone.

Wow, I never would have thought someone who built full damage with TWO OF THE MOST EXPENSIVE DAMAGE ITEMS in the game would do damage. It's almost like when someone goes glass cannon damage they do damage!

Otherwise, due to minions having no armor high crits easily happen (you hit them for true damage after all). In addition, both poppy and ahri did more damage than he did.

Nidalee had huge range, mobility and traps (gank safety), could fix her mana problems easily (since she was AP) and great sustain (after fixing said mana problem)

Gangplank is AA reliant, has 2 offensive abilities (one scaling with AP), huge mana problems that can't be fixed because he needs to build crits, short range, relies on walking away from ganks, long CDs on his sustain and mobility skills and until very recently, a luck based ultimate.

If anything he should be compared to a way less toxic Tryndamere who is harder to play, but never Nidalee.
