Reverse Draft Pick: New Gamemode Idea
EDIT: It's gonna be a thing :D. New featured gamemode is called 'Nemesis Draft' and it's happening XD
Alright so this isn't entirely my idea since I remember it from a discussion but can't remember where. I felt the idea was cool though and deserved to be revisited.
So basically in this mode, you pick the enemy's team and they pick yours. That's the TL;DR.
Specifically things would work like this. The champ select screen is like draft pick, though each player is presented with the option to ban two champions from their champion pool and theirs only. These bans would be unseeable by anyone but the summoner banning them. After this, players choose champions for the summoner opposite them on the screen, back and forth like in draft pick, choosing from that summoner's champion pool. The enemy team then picks your champions and the two teams go back and forth down the line until everyone has a champ. After that there's a bit extra time to swap champions between players and adjust runes or masteries before the game starts. Then you need to make it work to gain victory; using teamwork to get around the fact that your teamcomp most likely is as poor as the enemy's.
The idea is you choose who you're going to fight and try to gain a tactical advantage while the enemy does the same, creating some interesting team comps and perhaps resurfacing dormant champions.
Thoughts and ideas are appreciated, thx for reading ;)
OTHER NOTES: Just to be clear this would be played on summoners rift. This would give teams far more strategic potential instead of just making it a new ARAM mode. Dragon, Baron, jungle buffs, split pushing or teamfight strategies, all letting each team have more chances to out play the other.
would be played much more often, I'm sure he'd appreciate it. I still think it'd be cool, but every player should have 3 personal bans from their own champion pool. For example, I'm quite comfortable with all the champions I own except maybe
, so I could ban him so that my enemy team counterpart couldn't pick him for me.
