I just bought him and played a few normals. And i have to say, hes not very strong and gets out classed by most champs. Auto attack champions such as shyv, irielia and others are much stronger atm. He doesnt need a massive buff. But just a little love tap to help his early game.
No he doesn't need a buff. If they are going to do anything to aatrox, it's going to be a rework.
Dont play him top. Play him jungle. I find him to be a very competent jungler, perhaps even a match for top tier junglers like Vi. In top lane he is just shit. He's out classes by all the popular top lane picks.
I've played several games with him, jungle and top. He does seem to get outclassed often, and his kit is (at least to me) very weak. Some matchups he gets utterly destroyed in too. In teamfights he can be stopped extremely easily, as he is squishy, and his sustain just isn't strong enough to survive all the damage. Yes his top sustain is fantastic, as well as his jungle clearing, but in fights he gets absolutely destroyed. Luckily he can snowball pretty hard, but I still feel that there are stronger picks than him. I still find him fun to play, just weak.
