how does "double promotion" work

And by double promotion I mean that sometimes, when you do really good throughout a rank, you'll instantly get promoted 2 ranks instead of one at the end of your promotion (that happens, right? if not, don't bother the read this and just say it doesn't work) anyways recently I got demoted to Bronze V and I, of course, started with 50 (maybe 75) LP, and I won my next game, getting me 97 LP (mission failed, we'll get em next time) and then I was qualified. Since I was demoted, I got a free win (you already have one win and just have to get another one out of the 2 games) and I yet have to play my promotions. If I win my next game and get 2 wins and the 3rd promo game isn't played, will the game promote me to Bronze III from Bronze V because I played 2 bronze V games (and won both of them) and then win the promotion game, promoting myself? (if i win that is, but will it still happen if i lose and then win?)

Skipping ranks is possible, I've had it happen. However, it almost only happens when your MMR is substantially above where you are, which would mean you are gaining upwards of high 20s and 30 LP per win. It is pretty rare and I've only seen it really happen for people when they are reset for the new season and are placed in Silver, yet were in Plat so they are just on a win spree.
