We nerfed Kassadin's ult range "slightly" so that he now telegraphs his intent to jump on you

......

Vi telegraphs her intent to jump on you

TwistedFate telegraphs his intent to jump on you

Nocturne telegraphs his intent to jump on you

Kassadin does not telegraph his intent to jump on you

You do not telegraph your intent to perform an action, by performing said action.

This nerf was made with the full intent of pushing Kassadin out of viablity until Riot figures out how they want to rework him. And what pisses me off is that they are lying through their teeth about it.

I think that they mean that he has to be closer to you to jump on you than he used to, so he is telegraphing his intent to jump on you because now he has to get closer to do. Whereas, before he could run away and still be running away and teleport all the way back now that your guard is down. They halved the range.

That is not how the term of telegraphing an action is used in gaming. Riot's misuse of the term will only lead to confusion and distrust if that is what they ment.

Telegraphing is when some fix action gives off a warning sign. A good example is TF. Once TF starts casting his ult, he can't stop casting it. He may not cast the 2nd part to jump, or he may get interuped to prevent his jump, but he gives a very clear sign of his intent and ability to jump.

I disagree with the change, but I thought their use of the word telegraphing was perfectly clear. He telegraphs his intent to ult ontop of you now by running toward you instead of just suddenly appearing by you.

They didn't misuse the word. "Telegraphing" applies to predictable behavior patterns, not just obvious visual cues. When you're laning against a Blitzcrank and he suddenly starts running towards you.. you know what he's about to do, and try to put minions between you and him. Telegraphing. Same logic now applies to Kassadin.

By that logic then Veigar should have kept his stun. Veigar's stun always had a very obvious and "telegraphed" stun range if you've played against him enough. As a champ with no mobility, it was a rather predictable "danger zone" and you were a fool to walk into that range without expecting Veigar to throw down a stun.

But no, "instant" stun (if a skill with a delay sounds like "instant" to you) = 0 counterplay, delay skill.
They should have just nerfed Veigar's stun range.
That would have been better.

I agree. Veigar's short range did cause him to obviously telegraph his stun, and skilled players could bait out a stun knowing the signs. I don't know that putting a delay on it is the wrong direction for Veigar, but having played against it, I feel that a .75s delay is a bit too far. I am confident they will dial it back as time goes on.

Nocturne telegraphs his intent to jump to someone.

There's nothing you can do about Vi anyways. Same with TF.

I'm talking about Vi's Q. The one she has to charge up before using. That is a pretty obvious warning sign of her about to jump on you.

TF creates a giant eye over your head and makes a circle of cards apear where he is going to pop in at. If that isn't telegraphing his jump then i don't know what is

The difference is that nocturne, vi, j4 and tf have massive ranges in which they can jump on you, kassadin cant, that's why this is BS.

But zed hardly telegraphs and can do the same thing and can get out after. Whats favoritism?

You mean the nearly entire second it takes for him to land out of his ult?

Or how his shadows have to travel first before he can teleport to them?

Nah, I don't see any telegraphing here.

Compared to your entire screen going black and the game screams DARRRKNEESSSS at you?

exactly i can still play kass with the nerf, but not nearly on the level i was at full strength.

If there gonna keep the rift crawl as it is that could be fine. What they should do is give him back his silence and make his E 4 charges instead of 6. This way he still has to flank but trying to get his opponent will be a lot easier. Now he will not be Able to go in for clean ups and get out but do an Assassians job on taking out the weak.

y dont we as the community just protest our complaints at or in front of riot building pretty sure maybe than they'll know how much the community cares since they obvously care more about commenting on skin and champ ideas and when it comes to champ balance they say indirect messages as to whether or not a champ is balanced and sometimes will just dodge huge questions in general

Nerfing the range of R to be shorter than his q does make him telegraph jumping on to you, he has to walk closer to be in range, that's the telegraph. Just because, there's no big sound effect or visual cue built into the ability's mechanics, doesn't mean that it's not telegraphed. Riot's not lying through their teeth, they're just adding non-direct counterplay to a champ with unparalleled mobility. Tl:Dr Stop complaining and pay attention to when Kass moves towards you, it's a pretty good telegraph that he might jump. It's up to you to make the judgment whether he's bluffing or not.
