[and a whole lot of "target this", "defend this" and "on-my-way" pings]

Seriously, its not that hard.

Good job you don't talk ... hard to get banned... your point?

My chat log is primarily filled with:

  • Summoner Spell timers
  • Timers for objective spawns
  • Timing and position of wards placed (during laning phase primarily)
  • Warning when an enemy is roaming
  • Attempts to strategize with my team about our next moves
  • Build suggestions (with reasoning) to allies
  • Casual discussion about random topics before minions spawn
  • Trying to stop people on my team from fighting or surrendering
  • An obligatory "GG" or "Good game all" at the end of the game

I think the closest thing I have to toxic chat is:

  • Mild cursing at myself when I make a stupid mistake (i.e. "Fuck, that was dumb" after I fail a tower-dive)
  • Mild taunting of the enemy team in all-chat (i.e. "Alright then" or "Thank you?" after getting two kills when the enemy tower-dives me and fails to kill me)

Pings probably make up the vast majority of my communication.

I think about 80% of my Chats are made of of just "gj" or "wp". I dont really type more, i prefer pinging. There are some derp talks with fitting Players sometimes, but yeah, almost only "gj" Never faced a punishment either.

The only potentially punishable thing I ever say is at the beginning of some matches.

"Report Kalista for teamkill."

I know the automated system could potentially take that the wrong way, but I think the joke is worth the risk since I have zero prior punishments.

"gg"

Thats more or less all i say at the end of the game. In the champselect i used to say: "Hi" "prefer XY, i will not jungle" or something similar. With the new championselect it's only "Hi".

Raw: GG You can ask Lyte to confirm this, sometime I don't even chat in game. http://www.auplod.com/u/uopadl6d63e.png

When I muted everyone (both my team and enemy) I never got reported or never had any problems with stress/toxicity/etc. There was also no issue of teamwork as you can use pings. Most people thought the old pings before smart pings existed alone were enough too.

Key to victory.

  1. Disable All chat and never turn it on. It's only purpose in this game is to actually increase toxicity.
  2. the moment anyone says anything negative /ignore all

You dont have to worry about yourself raging at someone, you dont have to worry about other people on your team raging upsetting you, and you dont have to worry about anyone raging at you.

Course none of this works outside of the game. As another example to Riot's clear attempts to curb their huge toxicity problem. Any mute you have does not cover pre game windows, or the post game chat window.

Ignore someone in game -> post game window rage QQ fest.

I highly doubt the post game chat is even recorded or checked by Riots "AI toxicity checker" either.

As you can see I am frustrated how a multi billion dollar company continues to ignore, any make almost no effort, other than to show they did something to fight the #1 problem in this game. For years and years we have watched with no real change. Cant really fight with your wallet because it is a free game. I dont buy anything anymore anyway. It is just lame when they refuse to make any change which could reduce their potential profits by punishing players.

Today if you get banned its because you are so toxic, their equation says you will cause people to quit the game, and thus they lose more money keeping you, than banning you.

I am afraid any chance there was at getting something in place went out the window when they sold out to Tencent.
