Playing Vs Blitz and Thresh

I main adc and every time without fail I feed my ass off when I play against a blitz or thresh. I hate it more then anything in league it frustrates me off them face of the earth. I get pulled once, and just one time is all it take to lose a game. I feel like it is the same story every game. I get pulled/hooked die get back to lane get pulled/hooked die over and over agian and end up feeding. Please tell me how to counter these two supports on immobile champs and mobile champs. Obviously I try to stay behind minions but eventually he will land a pull then I just lose my lane and can be the biggest factor in losing the game. Also, I lose expecially hard on red side because of the pure uphill battle it is. Please give me tips on how to beat them would love to hear before I go mentally insane. Thank you.

Minions counter them.. stay behind them.

If you have like 3 minions left, back off and wait for the incoming wave.

If they run up you back off and keep distance and behind your support.

Pick Sivir. You can block abilities and block every single hook.

Sivir is the best against them as you can block abilities, Ezreal and Trisstana are also pretty good as they can just nope outta there. The best way is to ward the side bushes and move unpredictably, as well as hanging back and farming undertower. Good disengage supports work against them pretty well like Janna, but sometimes picking an engage support can work too as you can turn the fight like Leona .

Your best bet is to as the others are saying use the minions as a shield.

However, as a blitz main I can tell you that my counterplay to this 'minion shield' is to build lots of ap so I can hit R to nuke the entire wave and fire a grab at you without warning once I've nuked said minion wave. Your safest options are probably to hide behind your support, or if you're more independent, get a spell block or self stasis item of some kind.

Post Script: The hook battle is a pscyhological game. The whole time you're focusing all your mental energy on mechanical cs farming. We pressure you, we measure you; We manipulate you with our pressure until your focus cracks. Once your mechanical concentration breaks you're going to sacrifice something; position or gold. It's kind of the nature of most supports. Disrupting your concentration is just part of the game. Even if I cannot get you with a hook and take you down, If I can make you mess up your siege minion cs every time one comes down lane, and avoid deaths that's still a major victory in lane for supports.

Blitz is frustrating, thresh is annoying but not as bad.

You want to hug minions as everyones said. Some people will play way far back 'safely' but just end up letting blitz get in position to completely zone you. When you're hugging minions you're going to want to poke blitz as much as possible so that he can't just sprint around the minions and punch/hook you. If the support does this as well, theres a pretty good chance that blitz will end up low enough that grabbing you just becomes an opportunity to engage on him instead.

Trying to solo out maneuver blitz is super frustrating though, as it's almost impossible to keep blitz zoned and cs effectively, and I really support blitz bans.

I looked you up and saw your plat 3. I have another issue, I started playing adc at the end of season 6 and won a ton. Then it switched over to season 7 and I can't win a game. Is adc not healthy atm or... this season I want to actual climb and get to a high rank because usally I only play 100-200 games, but this season I wanted to play a ton. Is adc the way to go or is it "bad". would love to hear thank you.

I'm a support main as you probably saw. You can climb as any role if you're good at it. Up to diamond or so, you can climb with pretty much any conventional champion for the role, without much regard for who the strongest meta picks for the role are (so don't flip flop around champs for the most part, it's better to master one than be ok at several).

Preseason is kinda scary, particularly with lots of freshly reworked assassins, many of whom make adc murder their number 1 priority. Once the dust settles and people are used to playing against them and any needed nerfs come into play it shouldn't be much worse than any other season (and indeed, probably better since in theory you have more chance to flash/heal/etc instead of blinking and being instaburst), so I wouldn't let that discourage you from playing adc.

Right now my finger isn't quite on the pulse of the relative strengths of the various roles, but I'm sure theres plenty of much wiser streamers/pro players who've done videos on the state of the game. I wouldn't really worry about that though, as meta-analysis is way beyond what matters for climbing lower elo, since differences in individual skill are going to far outweigh any subtleties in the particular tunings of the game.

People will probably recommend against support for climbing, but other than that it's whatever you're good at. As someone who climbed from silver to plat as a solo support I'm pretty sure climbing is just as viable for climbing as any other role, but most people aren't good at it since it's a somewhat different style compared to other roles.

blitz hook is easier to dodge because of the average hit box on it. thresh however. tricky. thresh was way more cc to luck you down. basically if thresh lands a hook on you and has any follow up. you die. with blitz. kind of the same thing but hes way more punished for not landing it and he doesn't have that good roams and not much utility outside of the hook. i hate how thresh gets to save with lanterned and have 3 cc abilities and a shield.

personally. i don't mind blitz. i can play against him. but i ban thresh every time i adc because hes cancer that at least for me unplayable against.

If you are against these champs, play sivir and morgana. Each of you should max your shields. It makes their reliance on their pulls useless.

Its leauge of legends - you need to learn to counter pick/build
