Role Hierarchy?

If the roles in LoL gameplay were ranked in order of importance in terms of contribution toward achieving an objective, would it look something like this?

  1. adc
  2. mid
  3. top
  4. jg
  5. sup

What do you guys think?

EDIT: I can see where you guys are going with this. Allow me to modify the list.

  1. jungle primary job: provide vision and global information on the enemy. secondary job: gank trouble lanes.

  2. support primary job: set up and initiate fights. secondary job: provide vision and local information on the enemy.

  3. attack-damage carry primary job: be the main damage-dealer; be fed. secondary job:

  4. midlane primary job: provide CC and engage/disengage depending on situation. secondary job: provide magic damage to compliment the adc's physical damage (apc?).

  5. toplane [need help with this one]

Feel free to revise.

Jg is probably most important. You're not getting dragon/baron without smite, and if the jungle is in lane it's an outnumbered fight.

Support and jg should be on top. Top on bottom.

  1. Support
  2. Jg
  3. Adc
  4. Mid
  5. Top.

I think each player will have their own ideas on the Heirachy... But Support and Jungle should IMO share the top spot. They do a lot of stuff to keep people safe or get them fed.

Agreed. They are the most team oriented roles after all.

Yeah I have SERIOUS respect for the mains of those roles! Wish I could even jungle to a decent degree. XD But that is something you gotta do by trial and error I guess. Or at least for me that is. Its hard to find that jungler or junlgers that clicks with you.

For me it was Sion. Made me love tanks again.

Then it was Poppy.

Shen is confusing mainly because I'm not sure what to build on him in the jg.

You go full on River Shen! AND FIND A WAY TO REVIVE I! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZieqh9IbsM

Ahem... Anyways... https://media.giphy.com/media/1KoN1DMBnCMWk/giphy.gif Back on topic: I LOVE my burst (though strangely I LOVE playing Malzahar DoT like crazy) that I get from playing a lot of mid so I should probably look more into assassin junglers maybe?

Or Mage junglers. Try malz or lissandra jg.

Lissandra jungle? First time I've heard of that one! XD I'll definitely look for other Mages (Diana probably counts since I do have her) that could jungle then.

Though I have tried and enjoyed Malz jungle. Hella fun with his voidlings. Also lvl 3 Dragon if I remember correctly? Post 6... DONT INVADE HIM SOLO! BAD IDEA!

I suggest lissandra because she is a DoT Mage.

I've heard a friend jungle with her and he doesn't normally jungle.

I'll check her out then! After I get this guy: Jhin ... Looks like I'm gonna have LOADS of fun playing him honestly.

Recently I had a team member play Kassadin jungle for the first time. Yeah he died at blue and it sucked... But once he got going... Damn... He went crazy! http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/2082231971/228001655?tab=overview Of course it could have gone better for him but it went surprisingly well honestly. Was loads of fun in that match.

Support vision and keeps carries alive > everyone else

Can't carry a game if u can't stay alive for any teamfight

Typical but needed "Everyone is important". A game with no support will hurt incredibly, and you can see this most if you have a good Blitzcrank / Thresh vs a bad one. Jungle is either a secondary support for the team (Maokai, Tank J4) or carry (Jax, Yi). Either way, they can all snowball multiple lanes and a game where you lose lane and don't receive ganks is an uncomfortable experience we've all had at some point. The typical ADC - Mid are one of the more recognized roles, mid with pushing and roaming potential and ADC with good late game and carry potential if protected. Top lanes varies like jungle based on the champion picked -- either way, a top laner with teleport can create a lot of pressure and comebacks for other lanes globally and is in a lot of cases the lane in which the inhibitor falls first and draws the entire enemy team.
