I mean, I'm really bad at Yasuo, but he's so braindead to play that it's almost impossible not to carry. Like, he's such a strong champion that if you're not playing like a boosted bonobo and you actually play like you've got a brainstem, you win every 1v1 by just right clicking and spamming Q and in teamfights you just play him like Master Yi, windwall important skillshots and wait for the enemy to be fixated on someone else and then you dive in and assassinate everyone.
He's just an extremely safe champion to play and his only downfall is that to Riven's. Since he's so strong, people keep pushing their limits so often and diving into situations that are completely unwinnable, thinking they can 1v5. I promise, almost every Yasuo that feeds in a game does so because they keep diving in like they're faker. Watch any replay and I guarantee that 95% of them are that way. Their first death is them trying to go for a kill and getting ganked or something.
I used to not play Yasuo and think he was broken, but now that I actually own Yasuo and have played several games with him, I understand exactly how he's broken. Think about any AD carry who starts the game with double attack speed, a shield and no mana, and that's basically Yasuo, it makes him untradable in the early levels and your only real hope is to kill him with burst.
I play Yasuo in the jungle where I can farm relatively safely, I just power clear and work on getting items, because I know once I have my two-item power spike of IE and Shiv, I'm pretty much a god by the mid-game.
He doesn't take skill so much as he takes restraint. You don't need to build a comp around Yasuo. A Yasuo doesn't even have to press R at all in a game, I rarely do. That's actually the ability that gets 80% of all Yasuo's murdered, because they have a "my body is telling me yes" moment and go full ape and wonder why they died, question pinging their team, as if anyone else can instantly blink across a lane.
TL:DR; Play Yasuo like you play Master Yi and you'll understand, just out of his sheer free damage output, why people think he's broken. Stop trying to "outplay" people. Yasuo doesn't need to outplay anything. Just play like you're a squishy damage bot like Yi and you'll stomp people, that's all there is to it. Yasuo literally has the same counters as Yi, but less of them since his Windwall stops the majority of all CC in the game.
