Is it me? Or new (old) Kog´maw is much weaker?

I probably suck at him in his new state that I used to love before the marksman update. But I feel he is a bit weak. I want to trust in the websites that say that he is close to Kalista level in win rates, but its too new, i cant trust in Win rates. I wonder if anyone thinks he might be weak? Or is it just me sucking at him?

He requires skill to play now. He isn't just W + rightclick = freelo anymore

Pre-rework Kog was pretty decent. Not bad, but not terribly amazing either.

But then Kog's everything aside from W was nerfed and his W was buffed.

Then Kog's W was reverted. And most of the other buffs weren't. As a result, Kog nose-dived into dumpster fire tier.

I loved Kog pre marksman update, he was balanced and super fun in my opinion. Then I hated the new Kog´Maw, he felt as Best Kog NA said, quite brainless, just positioning but no kiting etcetera. And now that my old love is back in my hands again, im quite lost. Im not sure what to build, and I FEEL like he is weak, but im still not quite sure. Ive got the certainty that he doesnt suck, that its just me, but the doubt sprouts back up again many times.

Kong just needs his team, he is pretty meh without protection and right now i honestly see no reason to pick him when Vayne Ashe Jinx just simply outscale him and are overall better

No. He's legitimately weak. yes, he requires more skill to play, yes, he needs to kite. No, he is not strong, and every other hyper carry in the game outscales him. Twitch can and will do what he is supposed to do better while having a more balanced early game.

He is weak primarily because his Q, E, and R were not compensated when all of the power was taken out of his W. If "nothing" else, he needs a stronger passive. Possibly could use some more interactivity with his W and the rest of his kit. Like his W's extra damage increasing to targets affected with Q, or give it mild AD scaling (on W OR Q).

Interestingly enough, Maxing Q on him first gives him decent farm potential, and good poke while laning, while also giving him that passive AS increase.

However, part of his issue right now I think to me is that he is super reliant on trinity force, which inherently makes me mad. I don't like trinity force much on ADC as I mess up the sheen proc timings in team fights constantly, the only ADC I like with sheen is Ezreal since it seems to time perfectly with his Q. (as well as corki too) But with kog, managing sheen is a very tricky skill to learn and honestly one mistake with it can cost you the game which is truthfully unfair in comparison to some other more braindead ADC, such as jinx or lucian.
