Fellow Low Level Support Mains: Don't Give Up Hope
Just want to encourage my fellow low elo support mains (or support main wannabes). Don't give up hope. It's taken me a while, but I have done it.
The last ranked game I played before coming back was in April. When I came back, I was in Bronze 5, around 19 LP.
I just finished my 19th game since leaving for a while to work on another account. I just passed my promotionals into Bronze 3.
In 19 games: 4 ADC 3 Mid 1 Jungle 11 Support
Bronze 3.
It can be done. If you get discouraged, I highly suggest creating a brand new account. Play from level 1 as though you've never played the game before, even claim ignorance in game if you want to. Play supports left and right - pick 3 and rock them. Mix in just as many games as ADC/Jungle.
Everyone complains about the smurfs in low elos, but imagine the knowledge a plat/diamond smurf could bring to your itemization, or play style. They can be rude, but they can also be helpful! Claim ignorance and seek help in your role. And be teachable (even through their toxicity).
Learn to play the support you would want as an ADC.
There's nothing quite like the feeling you get when a team you solo que into types out "Supp Carry!" when you only have 1 kill. So NO! Support Carry is NOT kill stealing! Support Carry is knowing...
WHERE to be, WHEN to be there, WHO to support, WHAT to buy, and WHY we ward.
Because no team needs 2 glass cannon mid mages and no vision.
