Thoughts on Surrendering [opinion]

  1. If you troll pick or flame in champ select and it is absolutely deliberate in order to get a reaction, I will NOT surrender.
  2. If you are toxic or start playing the blame game pre-20, I will NOT surrender.
  3. If you call for a surrender or open lane pre-20, I will NOT surrender.
  4. If I had to mute you for ANY reason, I will NOT surrender.

You made your bed, and you will sleep in it until I am outvoted.

  1. If you off-meta picked and it didn't work out, but none of the above have happened, I WILL surrender.
  2. If I am duoed with you and you are tilting, I WILL surrender (as long as you aren't toxic from tilt).
  3. If you are pleasant to play with but somehow find yourself short on time and must leave, I WILL surrender (until the flaming starts).

If you are nice but struggling, I will not waste your time. But if someone else flames you for your struggles, they will remain in the game until I am outvoted.

  1. If you are just plain BAD at your role, I will NOT surrender.
  2. If we are absolutely losing but everyone is eh about it, I will NOT surrender.
  3. If it is a RANKED game, I will NOT surrender.

Games are not win/lose. They are learning experiences that have an outcome - even Ranked. Until that outcome is determined, the game is not over, and there is always something to be learned.

It's abused and should be deleted from the game except for higher elo where they would use it as intended. The surrender button at lower elo is just another enabler of a loser attitude of people who quit when things get tough. Those players should also be deleted from any competitive game regardless the mode. They are useless players and will never improve.

The only time I will not surrender a losing game is in ranked, makes no sense, but other than that I will surrender when the game is not worth my time anymore. I wont quit playing if my team doesn't agree though.

Also people want to surrender without thinking about WHO is fed. Are the fed enemies capable of carrying or do they fall off? Do you have a hyper carry quietly farming? Often times there is a fall back and quitters and noobs just don't see it.
