Jungle Plants...?

Am I the only one that thinks the jungle plants are just stupid? I don't see what purpose they serve, and I really really don't want them to be a permanent thing in game... I understand Rito wants to change, and evolve the game Khazix but I think the plants are NOT a step in the right direction.

Have you tried them yourself? If so, what specifically did you not like bout them? How do you think they should change them?

The one thing I dont understand is ritos logic, they said this RNG plant bring more strategy than jungle smite buff. Like wtf? I optimize and change my pathing and ganking so I can get the specific smute buff I need when I do certain things, while this plant thing is just studpid and the best strategy with it is to get rid of it asap so it doesnt mess stuff up.

They could be cool in another game mode or something but IMO on summoners rift it really feels like they don't belong there. I didn't play on PBE, but I watched people play there and to me it didn't feel like those plants have anything to do with serious gameplay. Like I said, they could be cool in other game modes for fucking around.

Am I the only one that thinks that I should probably just wait until I can try it out myself to judge, and that I should trust Riot in their decision making?

Am I the only one that thinks "Am I the only one that thinks...", followed by something that has been complained about a lot recently is just an annoying way of asking for upvotes?

That explosive plant that knocks ppl up/back is really bad and totally messes up a fight in the jung if someone accidentally clicks on it.

I prefer the smite buffs.

The plant system would be better if it wasn't random imo.

Personally, I don't care for the changes from what I've seen, but I'll remain neutral until I've played with them.

To be fair, I think Fearless did a really bad job explaining how plants would improve gameplay. They showed a Gnar healing from fruit which prevented Karthus' ult from killing him (such skill) without showing how those fruits could be used against someone with their built-in slow. Then they left poor Xypherous on damage control (he tried his best, didn't deserve the hate he probably got).

From what I've seen so far, worst case scenario theyre useless, best case scenario they're average. Still yet to see any actual instance of them doing crazy shit like in those staged Rito propaganda clips.

I've played with them for a while on PBE I'm a jungle main and I've been playing since 2009. This is my opinion if anyone cares. The plants aren't bad however, they aren't good and are defiantly not a good replacement for smite buffs here's why.

To start with they don't really have any negative impact on the game so it's not like it's a bad thing. A main concern from people was the RNG of plants I can firmly tell you the RNG is not a problem at all. There is honestly nothing wrong with them.

However, they have little to no realistic use in game. I find myself using the the blast one never for running or "plays" the only use I get from it is hitting it behind me just to micro manage movement speed to other areas. The healing plant has never saved me. The only use I find for them is just to pick it up for some health and mana just to make jungle clears easier/quicker or have a somewhat safer health pool if a fight breaks out. The vision one is the only somewhat useful one, it's nice to get vision of people but it also tells them I know and where I am as well so most the time it doesn't do much for me. I like the ward vision aspect back on them from smite buffs that is useful.

Now to explain why smite buffs are far superior. The plants as a whole just feel like they have no impact on the game at all. I honestly love smite buffs so much more as a jungler it gives me something that is unique to the junglers. We have the power to get ward control, use the wolves smite to gain vision in both sides of the jungle. Destroy towers faster with the use of kruggs buff and get some some extra damage back to enemies with gromp.

It feels like a whole other element to the jungle to save smite or not and what I should smite in different situations. This has been the same since they came out and I have never got tired of it. In my opinion it was the best change to the jungle ever. It added more depth to counter jungling with it big time.

To sum things up, I think you should maybe work more on evolving smite buffs instead of removing them for plants. But, to add a final note the changes to the camps adding raptors, removing the side monsters with blue and red, and making the kruggs split is awesome.

Healing plant needs removal, it'll swing lanes too dam easily with how easy they are to pickup. And I've played PBE constantly, the healing plants are fking retarded as long as laners like myself can just force a trade->win->shove->grab plant->comeback with free HP and mana the enemy can't deal with.

And I thought they wanted to nerf feast wth are these healing plants restoring 40-60% HP and Mana for?

The vision plant is great, just wish you could hit it then after 0.2 seconds it flew towards your cursor, it's clunky to move around to hit it. Blast plant is fun and makes some sick mobility even for non-dash champs.

they just simply dont do anything.

blast plants? cuts down clear time of junglers who cant pass through/over walls. will cut down 3 seconds travel time, (which can be a big deal, it adds up.) vision plant lets you see in a cone for 2 seconds. (whoopidty doo)

the honeycomb or whatever (healing plant) is the only one that does anything and its overtuned as shit, you shouldnt get to lose a fight or continue being able to clear your jungle for eating a fruit. it should be a "holy shit will this save me from dying??" not "okay i ate the fruit round 2 now bro"
