I call apon the wisdom of bard mains to bestow apon me information on the best possible bard builds and how to play bard. I played bard a few times, and I'm TRASH at him, currently. The main issue is that I have no idea how to efficiently build him.

Zone of Endless1 votesBuild him like a regular support so get items you'd typically get on a tanky support. I personally start spellthief and then eventually sell it to get face of the mountain. Zeke is pretty much mandatory as first or 2nd item. Then locket if they have 2 ap and so on. Support build is pretty much the same unless you play ap support

Something like 
Ohmwrecker, Frozen Heart, Zz'Rot, Banner and Righteous are good options too. Bard has a lot of options to build things with; one of my favorite things about him.
