I remember being so hyped for them to come out so I could build them on Udyr and kick peoples teeth in. I even made an item set that had Spear and Atmas IN IT. It said that they were in the game!

They got iceboxed until preseason.

Riot didn't want to add anything else to shake up the game too much after the ADC item changes did so they pushed them back until preseason starts

I also recall Riot saying they didn't want to give bruisers any big items since, at the last second, bruisers and juggernauts suddenly became meta. Imagine how pissed people would've been if the new items escalated a game meta like that.
