Sona has the 4th highest winrate, best overall performance of supports and she got a lot of new toys

Why do people want her buffed again?

Her play rate doubled, her win rate jumped up 2% and she is performing a lot better with the new masteries + items.

Why are people still demanding that she be buffed?

People need to remember that shes sitting right in that 4th place because of the new itemization and masteries, not because shes a balanced champion, like vayne who got her items and bolts nerfed and shes still pretty fucking strong.

The fact that Taric is number 3 in win rate among supports tells you something about using win rate to judge a character's strengths…

All of this talk of Sona changes was before pre-season started, but you just happened to bring it up after pre-season started, which made it look like we still wanted Sona changes even after this, hence the upvotes

That was waaaayyy before the Preseason changes was even announced. Ever since she got that rework, people find her dull and boring to play. Her Q is decent if you have ability power runes, her W healing was very lackluster, her E is barely noticeable, and the only thing that was great was her ultimate. Her ultimate used to be 200 mana at rank 3, which is pretty ridiculous.

When the new masteries and items appeared in the PBE for the Preseason, people speculated that anyone with healing or shields will be really good because of the Windspeaker's Blessing. Bard, Sona, Soraka, and Karma are doing very well in this patch.

I have already stated that the preseason changes made her stronger, New FQC, both offensive and supportive options that she can spec into on masteries and do well with both, as well as Miss Fortune, Graves and Lucian being good now (3 ADC's who work very well with Sona) A buff at this point would be idiotic

And this comes from that "Sona circlejerk guy who just wants her to be overpowered as fuck"

Feel free to bring Sona into a Diamond match.

I enjoy getting a free win lane (Admittedly she is better than before, but she is still far inferior to the supreme picks (Alistar/Thresh/Leona/Soraka/Braum/Annie/etc.)

She is only good because there's a lot of broken shit that synergizes with her. She is not a good champion on her own and once Riot gets around to balancing everything she'll be in the gutter once more.

I'm guessing that one healing /shielding mastery works extremely well on her.

People don't necessarily want her buffed, they just want power shifted around so that she doesn't have to be gimped by crazy mana costs and shitty base stats.

I still remember the Sona thread a while back where Meddler came in to give his opinions on the subject and was immediately and viciously attacked by multiple of the delusional Sona "defenders". I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Sona mains on these boards are delusional as fuck and should be ignored, especially the ones who say ridiculous things like "Riot hates Sona and is conspiring against her" and "I heard rumors they're gonna delete Sona fron the game". Sona is fine. The new masteries and item changes are extremely beneficial to her. Anyone who still thinks Sona is garbage is out of their minds.

No reasonable person asks to buff Sona. Reasonable people ask for a real rework.

People asked for buffs before the pre-season changes, before the masteries and items change that benefit her. Prior to that her performance and play rate were underwhelming. Her winrate actually decreased (might still be the case) with player experience with her, and the only explanation to that was that she was only successful against low experience people.

Sona is historically an easy to use champion. That's a large reason why she's always had a high win rate despite little cc, large mana costs and as of the rework, a contradictory kit. Now, the itemization changes make it easier than ever to use her, and I myself, someone who rooted for Sona buffs, FINALLY enjoy post-rework Sona under the condition that I build 250% mana regen on her. (Not even joking) Just the spellthief's line alone is likely to bump up her win rate by a lot simply because it made her go from very easy to use to hard to use wrong.

We don't necessarily want Sona buffed. (At least not directly) We want her reworked to actually make sense. Her kit is frustratingly contradictory. Rapid Firecannon shouldn't make so much sense on Sona to make up for the range disparity between her Q and auto attacks- she needs to make use of this every time, because unlike the power chord of pre-rework, (where you could hold onto it until an opportune time to use it) the on-hit bonus is on a three second timer. If you don't land it, it's a nerf in comparison to pre-rework Sona. If you merely aim to land Q on two enemy champions every time, it's a straight nerf. She lost her aura for this after all.

Her heal has extremely low numbers in comparison to other champions and extremely high mana costs. It's double targetting somewhat makes up for this I guess, but what I really hate about her W is that 1. It gets stronger for hp missing and 2. it comes with a shield. And extremely short-lasting shield at that. Both of these are meant to be compensation for its low numbers, and both go against what Sona uses her heal for. She wants it as sustain. (Not necessarily as a combat move) Not being able to sustain means she can't discourage people to jump on her, which is her counterplay as an extremely squishy champion. I don't see how anyone would want a shield and % missing health bonus coupled with a damage and mana nerf in exchange for the defense aura she used to have, and I don't see how anyone would think the former is more cohesive in usage than the latter. To make use of the shield, you need to take damage, usually more than all that the shield can block AND all that the heal can heal.

I bypass this by grabbing item 1004item 1004 after finishing item 2301, picking up item 3057 for the passive and then finishing either item 3174 or item 3165, usually the latter since there's less AP now and how everyone and their grandmother has lifesteal. Isn't it ridiculous that that much mana doesn't go to waste on her?

As for E... well... http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff517/ryik7/sad%20day_zps1jy4avab.png #Sad Day

Now, combine all this with having to be right next to someone to give the full effect of your abilities. This doesn't make any sense. Do I want to hang back, or do I want to be up in the action? Is grouping up really to be encouraged? What niche does she even occupy? Nami with less cc and slightly lower cooldowns?

People don't necessarily want her buffed.

They want her changed, because as it stands right now she is often frustrating and mostly unsatisfying to play as, and obviously as there are people like tc who violently resist buffs, frustrating to play against.
