zed is getting nerfed before cass/azir/orianna

Kariu Rena··3 votes·1,423 views

those 3 are once again p/b status in important matches i wonder why. They also have have high winrate and the only win zed got from MSI is from a free win team.

Those 3 are all lane bully like zed but scales way better than him past 25mins so why are they not getting touched? Is it because they uses mana? Muh mobility? Pls if you think those are valid points to defend them you need to slap yourself in the head.

Because Zed has the least counterplay of that group by far. Zed can snowball harder than any of those champions, thus reducing the chance your nexus survives long enough to reach late game where he finally drops off compared to them.

Lol.

SmokinSickStyle2 votes

Isn't that the trade off of being weak early?

Imagine if the rest of other champs had a better early and slightly worse late, yes, it would happen the same thing, snowballing monsters with bad late, we'd just have less diversity than Riot's actual "diversity", everybody's a snowballing early monster yay.

Saying Zed has the least counterplay just because it's not him being strong but you being WEAK early is just a biased opinion towards Zed.

Lugg2 votes

Just because a champion is weak early doesn't mean they should be an automatic kill. Zed had almost zero countrerplay. This allows SKILLED players the chance to trade evenly with him. People complained about the last nerfs to LB and she still needs more nerfs. Zed will be fine, it's just the mains actually have to use some strategy now instead of auto winning.

Keep tellin yourself that dude, i'm done discussing on these forums, because all we do is discussing, not changing anything like the actual Rioters do.

which is why a 2-0 zed that solo killed fakers azir had so much more impact in teamfight after laning amirite

Lugg1 votes

While Zed isn't great at teamfighting, he can delete any champion that gets caught out. Plus he can still split push big time.

sorry im not in the zed circlejerk

Yeah because Cass is definitely not oppressive on the Pro scene

Azir is trash in solo queue, Orianna's not done anything unfair and Cass will probably get gutted soon enough because we know how much Riot hates her. You can surely think of better arguments for keeping your champ nerf-free than "these people did better at a single tournament"?

The fact that you even want Azir nerfed is ridiculous. 44% win rate - leave the guy alone.

You brought up win rate in your opening post, so you're shouting at yourself.

Azir is a very good champion even with a 44% win rate but that doesn't change the fact that if you nerf him much further he's gonna be in the bottom of the 40s, possibly the high 30s. I don't care how much you love Zed or how meaningless you think statistics are, I don't think it's fair that Azir players should go into a game with a 40% chance or less of actually winning based on their champion choice alone.

Maybe beacuse they don't have a safe button that says "Press button if you fuked up"?

Kariu Rena1 votes

that explains their high p/b rate at msi. Good job m8 gr8 p057.

goldensilver091 votes

Oh. Azir and Cassio because DPS (Damage Per Second is better than Burst damage vs Tanks). Orianna, because is orianna a lot of damage and utility.

Cass will get her day. I hope they rework her into a lane bully.

Azir requires a bit of mechanical skill. But he does have a loaded kit.

Orianna is fine. She is overall a situational champion. She's just really good when she fits that situation(and that situation is not a rare one).

Zed has an extremely safe lanning phase(for the type of champion he is), high kill potential, high snowball potential and scales well into late game(assassination wise, he's nothing special after that in a teamfight).

cass is scum, havent seen an azir in forever tbh, nor ori.

Oh, this is just another post about MSI?

The issue with Zed is his extreme safe poking in lane against mages who SHOULD poke better than him but, sadly, cannot get to him. He is safe for having to melee creeps to kill them, even though he doesn't have to (Shuriken, Living Shadow). Yes you can avoid his Shuriken and Living Shadow, but often this means you have to miss out on creeps and experience, which also leads to the point that he can zone better than most zoning mid laners. Now in the best case scenario you avoid his Q and his W and you can farm, but this is pre-6, post-6 if his living shadow is on the field even if you are full health you might as well stand far back and wait for it to go away, as he can still all in you for the easy kill. That is the issue with Zed. Most mages in the mid lane require either poke or all-in, but if a mage has to all in, they do not necessarily have a safety feature built in like Zed does. Yes there is Ahri Leblanc Akali who technically have "safety measures" but not to the extent of safety Zed has. If Ahri messes up she is either dead, oom, or hiding under tower for a bit. If LeBlanc messes up then, well, she didn't get the kill and is probably out of mana or in a bad spot. Akali is Akali she has twilight shroud but that is not always going to help her. Zed, if he messes up he can go back to his far away shadow free from harm and he can try again later with the same safety and no retaliation fears.

Ori p/b? Right.

None of those are OP or need nerf, they are just shining because Zed is no longer an oppresive p/b pick himself.

Bless tank meta, Midlane is free from the evil.

Cass, Azir, and Ori are all fine. Leblanc is the one who needs some balancing attention right now. Especially not Zed, and especially not in the way they're doing it, but they're doing it anyway. This is about the wrongest nerf you could do to any champion. This should go down in history as a textbook example of ways you should NOT nerf a character. Removing choice, gameplay, and outplayability. This doesn't solve edge cases as much as it makes him automatically lose a LOT of matchups.

insaiyanbacca1 votes

ok i can understand the annoyance of cass even ori but im a bit confused about azir he isnt that great atm imo

Ellphi1 votes

People just get so frustrated with not killing Zed that they're blinded into thinking he's OP.

There's no way Zed carries nearly as hard as Cass/Azir/Ori - but OPness is in the eye of the Sheep
