Public Fiora Counter-strategy thread! Post your experiences or strategies how you deal with Fiora.

Fiora's a tough lane opponent. She has a very dangerous level 6, scales very well, can catch up very quickly, and has a lot of build flexibility. Her W and % health true damage can give many champions trouble. So how do you beat her? Well, that's what we're here for.

Some things I've been looking into: Mostly regarding counterpicks, and then what you do with those counterpicks to beat her in lane. I figured someone with any or all of the above would be good against her:

  1. Little to no telegraphed crowd control. Typical culprits are Zac, Riven (third Q), Sion, and Gnar where her W is far too easy to hit her stun. I avoid picking these kinds of champs into a Fiora

  2. Sustain. You will be taking % health true damage, so you can't hope to defend against it or just be bigger, but you can sustain it off.

  3. Low burst, high sustained damage. Champions with large amounts of burst can find themselves losing trades hard if Fiora can read their main damage spell and hit W. Champions with very low cooldowns or autoattack based champions (provided they don't get hit with that attack speed slow) are naturally better off as Fiora will be blocking far less damage in the .75 seconds vs these champions versus someone like, say, Wukong.

A few champions come to mind that meet these criteria. Olaf, Singed, Vladimir, Pantheon, Darius, Mundo, Garen, Shen, Nasus, Tryndamere, Ryze, and Trundle are all champions that I feel run far less risk laning against Fiora than the rest of the cast. Personally, I really like Olaf into Fiora. He scales almost as well, but doesn't get dumpstered by her level 6 all in, as he can either outright win or just run away with his ult, depending on the gold advantage up to that point.

What have been your best strategies against Fiora?

See, I don't know much about hacking, but an acquaintance of mine found that DDOS attacks are very effective against Fiora players.

I actually find Sion works pretty well... really it's just a game of can Sion land his Qs... and yes I know she can riposte it but Sion has a whole 2 seconds to play with on a Q charge while she only has .75 seconds to riposte... The trick is to mix it up and keep her on her toes... If she lets you land full charges then by all means charge away... If she knows exactly when to riposte then hit her with a couple insta- or lightly charged Qs... If she starts riposting early just laugh and hit her with the full charge... And yeah odds are you miss plenty of Qs because she slides out of them but she can't riposte while sliding and with a little bit of pre-planning/reaction time a guy can usually get a couple good hits on her...

He is by no means a hard counter to her but she has absolutely no range and Sion likes it when his enemies are close... learn to punish her when she lunges for that weak point... good use of your E does wonders to set up Qs and Ws (as it does in all matchups)... One important thing to keep in mind is that you can end Sion's ult early and with the some good timing can actually delay the hit long enough for her to miss her riposte... Certainly tricky but plenty rewarding...

Good luck and have fun.

I find (as a dormant irelia main...cause irelia is so...underwhelming atm) that irelia does really well into fiora, just because you can change your engage tactic every single time you engage.
