Riot, you fucked Galio Jungle

When you launched the Galio VGU, I immediately picked him up. He looked satisfying to play, and more importantly, I'm a jungle main who loves offmeta picks. I main Yorick jungle to good success, I have a few picks to diversify my pool, but I had no tank junglers that I liked playing, and Galio looked perfect.

I picked him up for the jungle for 5 reasons:

  1. AOE damage
  2. 6% (post-nerf) max health damage on Q, great for taking on big monsters
  3. Lots of cc and tankiness
  4. Great counterganks.
  5. Decent harass even against tanks with Q - thunderlords proc.

I got him to mastery 5 without ever playing him in a lane. He was a comfortable pick, I could reliably influence games.

And then you reworked him. You cut his base damages by a hefty amount - killing raptors became risky- even for an aoe champ like him. You took off all base max health scaling on Q - It used to do around 350 damage to blue buff at level 1, now it's about 150 IF you go sorcery tree. You made his w half as effective against AD - Good luck ganking botlane

I could barely clear. I had to create a specialized runepage with lots of flat armor and ap to help with my early game. I got frustrated and dropped him for a while hoping you'd give back the max health damage on Q.

And then you released Runes Reforged I can't clear without building glass cannon AP right from the start and buying pots like crazy. I can't gank because I'm not tanky enough and I can't ever finish a clear with more than 200 health. Thunderlords won't proc off Q anymore, no more harass.

And then you gave him damage on his w........ against champions COME ON!! YOU WERE THIS CLOSE!!! I could have brought him back to the jungle with this change if it worked against monsters.

I understand why you made all these changes- full tank Galio was deleting squishies. That's fine, cut his base damages like you did, but please leave in the 6% max health scaling on Q. I'm also OK with you making him weaker vs AD, he's anti-mage. But every single change you made to him hurt his jungling. I loved playing Galio Jungle and you openly support strategies like this, but you completely disregarded this one when you were making all these changes.

To be blatantly honest he was never meant to be a jungler to begin with.

It was mostly coincidence that his Tools worked out enough for him to jungle, and i think riot specifically attacked These Tools to get rid of him from jungle and support aswell as address his low playrate and overly diverse scalings.

Having seen the PBE changes, it feels like they are encouraging ap galio to happen, but i could be wrong in everything i said.

Champions don't need to be balanced around the jungle constantly when it's not Riot's intention for them to be used in such areas to begin with, grow up and use him top or mid as intended.

I'm a jungle main who loves offmeta picks

Which also means you technically agreed to not having to argue about changes which were directed at solo-laning Galio. Whatever affects Galio Jungle has absolutely nothing to do with Riot's fault at all. Play off-meta picks at your own risk.

Just a fyi, he was the anti-mage before his rework. Now he's just a tanky burst mage. Kassadin is now the anti-mage. Riot fucked him over with the rework, imo. I loved his kit before this trashy one came out.
