Karthus Buff Idea

i'm sure that this has been said already because originality doesn't exist

But, I thought of a Karthus idea that seems pretty good, especially in the current meta. What if his W (wall) worked the same way that Poppy's barrier works? It'll stop the first dash per champion through it, grounding them as it does. It wouldn't do damage, like Poppy's does, but will still apply the slow. What do you think?

I think his entire kit needs an update. His iconic ult has been left in the gutter for a while. He can still function, but he doesn't really have many tools in his kit to deal with the current meta, nor does his kit have much to do with his champion design.

Only if they shortened the length of the wall as compensation. He's fine as he is currently.

He doesn't need buffs, he has a 52,49% win rate, because he has a small pick rate that means his mains have much success with him, so he absolutely doesn't need buffs, go learn him if you want to succeed with him.

Why buff a champion that's strong?

Great idea. In regards to someone asking for shorter cooldown on his ult, pls no, long cooldown is appropriate for what it does.

And for someone who said he is fine as is... according to champion gg, he has 1.35% play rate which is really low, and as of this writing he has 7.5% winrate for people with 125+ games. The latter is only possible because he has very few games, but still, almost no one plays him, he could certainly use a buff.

I hate good Karthus players with a burning passion but I want this buff for Karthus, That's how cool it sounds. But they should shorten the length of the wall as (nerf) compensation. He's fine as he is currently. So it's better not try fix/update something that isn't broken. [slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

Karthus really does not need any buffs

Friendly Ram1/22/2017, 4:24:51 AM2 votes

it would definitely give karthus more utility and i'd enjoy it in many matchups.

Sounds cool but theres a small problem.. that champ is already broken as fk lol

This, alongside a little reduced CD on his ult, would be fantastic changes to modernize his kit, since his VU didn't really update his gameplay much.

Speaking as someone who has mained Karthus for about two years, no. No no no. That is insane. His winrate is fine as is (52% average for all players in Plat and up according to champion.gg, and it hasn't been negative in a while either) and he doesn't need any buffs. Plus, giving a champion who's sole purpose is dealing a ton of damage a really good defensive utility spell like that would be really difficult to balance. Trust me, this would be a horrible idea.

Everyone's saying that Karthus' mid-only winrate "is fine" while citing champion.gg's 52.49% winrate and 1.35% playrate.

op.gg says 51% winrate and 1.68% playrate. lolalytics says 51.73% and 1.34%. leagueofgraphs says 53.1% winrate and 1.5% playrate. (Also note the difference in role rate)

We need a bot that will auto-posts the available statistics on the champion at hand. Sick and tired of everyone using champion.gg and lolking when they're both notoriously (and confirmed by Riot to be) inaccurate and limited in scope.

I would like to see Karthus Buff, though I have other ideas in mind.

Karthus is this really skinny dude, he's so light he even floats. What if they added a bit of muscle mass to his arms?

I think it would give a bit more definition to his movements. Karthus is a battle mage, and most battle mages have very physical animations, like Ryze, who hurls his blue balls up in everybody's face. And though Ryze is fairly thin, he is still well-built (Both his model, and his items, Seraph RoA synergy). His post-game portrait even shows his strong, manly shoulders.

With larger muscles, it'll really bring out the primal strength of Karthus. It will be much more satisfying to see him raise his staff with his well-toned biceps.

I think it would fit more if the wall had the "grounded" effect Cassiopeia has in her Miasma. Also, remove some of the decay in the slow (I was thinking in increasing the slow, but that may be too much).
