5 seasons and Annie still hasn't been dealt with
All these patches later and
is still an unhealthy champion. All aspects of her kit have issues that Riot has been "fixing" in other champions.
Lets start with her passive
Her passive gives her a free stun every 4 spells, if you only use your Q for it, than it is a guaranteed stun so long as you're in range. Basically, the only counterplay to that is to stay away from her
Her Q is a point-click nuke, you know who else had a point click nuke and has been nerfed because it lacked counterplay
and
except neither of them stunned you. Oh yes, and the Cooldown and FULL mana refund allow you to safely farm from a considerable range forever, can't hit them with your Q? Then just AA them instead, her range is MASSIVE for absolutely no reason, nothing about a little girl with a flaming teddy bear should say that she at one point had a longer AA range than
Her W is an AOE burst of damage (wow! more damage!) and can also stun you but this time it can stun multiple people similar to
E except with more damage and I think a longer stun (correct me if I'm wrong) It's also pretty much instacast and you can't really dodge unless you're
or you ![]()
Her E doesn't thematically make much sense because all it does is give her armor and MR to survive asssassins and win trades/duels also it empower's tibbers' auto attacks
Her ult summons tibbers. Instantly. In an AOE burst of damage and can also stun. Where is the "counterplay" to this, it's instacast and a stun. Who did riot nerf because of an instacast stun that DIDN'T deal a crap don of damage?
I didn't like old Veigar either but the fact that they so heavily gutted him and they've nerfed the classic "stun then burst them down" mages but annie has remained relatively untouched other than range and a few numbers, yet she is probably the only champion left in the game that can 100-0 a champion when 0/3 because she does so much damage.
The Annie has short range argument doesn't really count as counterplay unless you're like
other than that the counterplay these people are suggesting is stay away and let her take objectives/CS for free, but the moment you misposition and get in range you'll get stunned anyway. She also snowballs insanely hard, it takes one mistake and you'll be 2-3 shot by Annie and it's not acceptable. "butbutbut Annie is reliant on hitting her ult to kill people..." No she absolutely isn't, as soon as you have that stun up you can kill almost anyone. "butbutbut Annie needs to go through her full rotation of spells to kill someone" So what? Did you want her to 1 shot people the moment you Q? That is possibly the most balanced thing about her, that she has to use at least two of her spells to kill someone. That's it for the counterplay section.
I suggest giving her a small rework, adding something to her passive that requires actual skill other than slightly patterned faceroll, change up her Q a bit (either make it like
and
) or nerf it. Tone her W down a tad, change her E and I think something can be done with tibbers that makes it necessary, sort of like what they did to
before the change he was just killing people without his ult (like annie is doing now) and after he now needs to land his ult to do his most damage and be as useful as possible.
Basically Annie is a champion with 3 nukes, 2 of them AOE, 1 of them point and click, those 3 skills can also stun and has a disgusting AA range, and in this age of "you get a skillshot, you get a skillshot, everyone gets a skillshot!" It seems almost hypocritical of Riot to let this champion be in the state that she is. That's all.

(This doesn't apply to ALL champions
lol I'm sorry but he needs a rework so badly)
