ARURF (and ARAM) ARE random
So I played 180 games of ARURF between the two weeks it was available. I own 73 champions currently, and had access to 85 over the 2 weeks with free champions.
Of the champions I could play, these are the number of games I played with each: *this doesn't account for rerolls (which I rarely used), trades, or when other people dodged

The champions I own but never played are:
- got 3 or 4 times but traded
- never got
- traded once, someone dodged once
- never got
- got once but someone dodged
- rerolled once
- got her on sunday
- traded once, rerolled once
- never got
This should show you that
- You're no more likely to get free champions than ones you own.
- The champion you get is random (or atleast as close to random as a program can get). Out of 180 games played, riven and warwick had the most games played, both of which I traded for a few times. I played 2-3 games on average with every champion.
Just because you didn't get one specific champion, or saw the same champion a few times, doesn't mean the game modes aren't random.
