top 3 meta safe junglers?

I'm learning to jungle and i'm wonder who are some good fairly safe junglers to learn that don't drop out of the meta horribly. As the game changes i understand that certain picks are better, but who is always usable? or who in each category is worth learning to always have 1 decent pick?

Who would you say is the most fun?

Zac if you enjoy just leaping into the enemy team and dumping goo all over them. Volibear if you like tilting people, hecarim if you like ponies, and Vi if you want strong 1 v1s.

Ganking with a decent cc is good. Im not huge on counter jungling because im newer to the role.

Counter jungling is fairly easy in my opinion. You get just ever so slightly ahead of the enemy jungler, now you own their jungle.

Even when behind, if you see them pop out top, go steal the other side of their jungle.

You don't have to play meta junglers if you can get really good at a champion. I play Sion and Wukong jungle, even though those aren't even close to meta.

I might give Hecarim a shot, tips?

EZ-mode but strong:

Volibear Rammus Amumu XinZhao Hecarim

These champs have a good balance between early game power and late game scaling, as well as good clear speed and CC, so you can switch your focus between ganking and farming as you want and never feel super pressured to do one or the other. They also have some decent leeway in base stats as well as good utility so that if you fall behind you don't just become useless forever and get reported 9x. Also they're just EZ to play

How is hecarim to learn? How much do you have to focus on move speed? Seems like an odd style.

If you can press Q, you can play Hecarim. The most 'difficult' thing on Hecarim is to not screw up his E - if you're ganking you want to run past the enemy first then knock them back into your allies but tbh even that's a minor detail and doesn't really matter.

I wouldn't focus too much about his MS scaling either, it's cool but it's not really an essential mechanic. Just build 'normal' stuff and take Ghost and you'll be all set.

Hecarim's 'style' is to use his insane speed and giant ult distance to pull off ganks and engages that most junglers couldn't do. It also allows him to be a really annoying chaser/split-pusher along with all the other implied benefits of running really fast and doing tons of damage.

I have mastery 7 in hecarim I can confirm he's a linear champ, his mechanics are simple and its all about playing the momentum game with him (he snowballs rediculously hard)

The movespeed is more about unifying his kit, triforce is your core item, then whatever you need to survive and amplify your strengths (stuff like spirit visage and dead mans plate)

I personally run armor pen marks, armor seals, scaling CDR blues to get 10%, scaling MR blues, and movespeed quints

But a standard rune page with AD marks and quints, full mr blues would work too I think

Masteries I ussually run 12/0/18 with strength of the ages
