is aatrox actually strong at any point of the game?

i've been playing aatrox for a while and to be honest, he's very tricky to play, a champion with abilities that scale of bonus AD and benfits from AS is not a good mix.

i find aatrox EXTREMELY weak early, and is outclassed by alot of champions in terms of dealing damage and Tanking

the only aspect i play aatrox for, is the splitpushing, i split push like a mad man, with all those AS and my saftey card passive aswell as my wall hopping Q, but honestly, i don't find myself doing damage at all, not being able to tank properly, and the bonus AD scaling (which are all at 60% except one) and you don't even buy AD, just the usual BoTrk and then to tank. and then there's this random AP scaling, which can be exchanged for total AD instead of something you will never buy i also think his ult should scale with his health, it would make more sense since he's drawing enemies health (it makes sense to do damage of % enemy, but i don't like the idea of the AoE % max health, and should support buliding aatrox as tank and reward him if he did)

am i doing something wrong? or is Aatrox medicore at alot of things and is outclassed by many?

(looking for feedback/help)

What is your build? If I was going to take him, I would build item 3111 item 3153 item 3065 item 3143 item 3072 item 3035 . Works well enough.

BoTrk/Hydra (depends on how i want to split push) ninja Tabi/merc (depends on who am i against) Randuin->Spirit visage (depends on whos ahead, their ap or AD) then Warmong/Thornmail (depends if they have auto attackers or mixed damage) getting banshee if alot of cc was in the mix

You are building too defensively.

Treads + Randuins + Visage gives a good trifecta of everything you would want while making him a little tanky. But past this point, tanky stats on Aatrox are mostly a waste and if you wanted to go that route you would be better off with someone like Nasus.

The reason Aatrox is good is that he is an Attack Speed + Attack Damage offtank where BOTRK, Hydra/Thirster, and Last Whisper combined will cause him to do A LOT of damage very very quickly. He scales really well with attack speed due to his W, and he scales really really well with life steal due to...... basically what Aatrox is.

Start Blades of Torment. Then Blood Thirst. Then Dark Flight.

Use your fourth point in Blood Thirst, and max that first. Max Blades of Torment second, but alternate between them so that you go 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, 5/5. Then go points 2 through 5 in Dark Flight all at once. And of course, put a point in the ult at 6, 11, and 16.

I don't know how but most of the Aatrox's I play with do it, but they fucking dominate pretty much all game with massive lifesteal and great initiation. He works magnificently with champs like nami.

I can't play Aatrox for shit tho (i have tried and failed horribly), so I can't really help you with actually playing him :|

Atrox is indeed weak atm altough he is far from useless. Mid tier massively.

I think he's supposed to be strong in the early game; he saw some jungle play in EU LCS because he could dive turret, die, proc his passive, and still get out alive (diving turrets is super dangerous now so I think he's fallen out of favor), but the general principle still applies. He can take a pretty stupid trade early and proc his passive, and assuming he took enough damage off the enemy, they can't engage on him again so he'll just heal back with his W. His late game is pretty weak since he gets kited kind of easily, though.

I always see aatrox players going hard too, and I really wanted to play the champ but for some reason, I just can't. He's so squishy early, I have no idea how to win lane lol
