Is it bad if I suck at a champ in top lane I do well with in jungle, who's meant for top?

I'm the only person who's mediocre with these types of champs in top lane Darius Renekton Olaf Malphite Pantheon Trundle MonkeyKing but when it comes time to jungle, I do better than I would in lane.

I mean I got to mastery 6 on pantheon and olaf, just jungling them 97% of my games. Yes, 97% is a number I can't back up, but I can't remember my last top lane game with any of the mentioned above. If I play top lane, I play to split almost always (TahmKench Maokai Gnar Gangplank are my exceptions that I group with).

I'm pretty sure this is a "jungler who can't lane problem" rather than me seeing untapped potential with all those champs (except malphite. We know he's a bad jungler), but I'm wondering about other people's opinion and how to remedy this.

No, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Top lane and jungle work very differently, and promote different strengths of the champ.

Olaf and Panth can jg just as well as top.

Same with Trundle, Wu, and Malph.

I haven't met a jg Darius but if Orianna can jg without taking damage then I don't see why he shouldn't be able to. I have seen the occasional Renekton jg. It is off meta but perfectly viable.

Part of it might just be the role. Top and Jg require very different play styles even when using the same champ.

I darius jungle. It has a warwick problem of not being SUPER dank until level 6, but at least at level 3 you can cheese with your passive and set up to get your laners snowballing early because of your E and W to slow them down, or force a flash. Mostly go cinderhulk into standard darius build or titanic hydra if I'm tilted and want to carry.

issues is you you say you split push as top laner and the champs you are playing arent split pushers. let along as a jungler when you arent having to control waves and trades and cs ect and you can farm camps and roam to lanes and gank are two very different play styles.

champs that are good at both top and jungle from what you play would be Maokai Malphite Trundle Pantheon MonkeyKing Olaf

champs like Darius Gnar Gangplank Renekton are best in lane. as far as Renekton Darius are early game lane bullies that dont scale greatly into late game unless they dominate lane and get ahead. they will fall of a bit.

Maokai Trundle can split push decently.

another champ that falls of if not snowballing is Pantheon he is most powerful pre 6

better split push top champs would be like Fiora Jax Shen Tryndamere Yasuo Yorick

If you split push as Maokai we can't be friends secondly, Pantheon is good until level 11. Unless I've been bullying a weak jungler, everyone else would have caught up with my power level by that point thirdly, I mainly did Nasus Yorick top lane when I swapped that from jungle, just because I wanted an excuse to not group

maokai with a item 3027 item 3068 item 3025item 3060 item 3512 item 1001 can be a split pusher and has great wave clear and if at full items is strong enough to escape most engages or at least fight a 1 vs 2

sometimes the purpose of the split push isnt always to get turrets but to create pressure if 2 champs have to come and deal with you to either stop you or kill you ( if they can ) then you have strength else where on the map being a 4 vs 3 and if your mid, jungle, support adc as the 4 cant handle 3 in a fight then Maokai being there wont be much help due to the other 4 being out played.

I'd say play try Jax and tryndamere. And if you're still not good with them top, they both can jungle well Also Yi is a good jungler to split push, but not very good top.

wariwck doesn't need health potion to clear camps

Neither does tryndamere or Jax after level 3.
Plus if you ask for a leash, you won't need any (well tryndamere maybe since its up to chance with how many crits you get)

his ganks at level 6 is a guaranteed kill and can solo dragon at the early levels

Unless they buy qss. And any jungles can take dragon solo after jungle item completed. Malzahar can also take dragon at level 3 and has a relatively similar effect at level 6 ganks as Warwick. Only problem with him is he needs kills to do well, and he's very easy to kill steal from.
