Who thought sona needed a buff?

-Q does stupid amounts of damage early

-W is the equivalent of heal summoner spell once you've developed items

-Who cares about E

-R now gives 20%-40% CDR to other abilities, on top of the 45% you can build maximum from masteries + itemization (85% potential CDR on a champ is balanced right)

only trade off is being squishy and not having a dash. Not really a trade off when you're sitting in the back line smashing random buttons on your keyboard and still damaging and healing at the same time.

Don't even get me started on if they have insane mana regen. It becomes urf mode all the time in late game. It's not balanced.

There's definitely no correlation between these buffs and a 7-8% win rate rise or anything, right? right.

Revert these sona buffs thanks rito

Sona actually does less damage early now. Still though, she's freelo right now

Ask the "Sona mains" here. They've been begging for definitely not buffs tweaks that hopefully makes her more enchanter-oriented than poke/healbot oriented.

It did work, but IMO still pretty overtuned. When she max E she can easily spam it and outrun just about almost anyone.

Also another reminder that AP Sona is overkill while off-tank classic support build can do just as much heals/poke but lives much longer.

huh? what? im sorry but your pissy athenes ardent censor cheerleader sona build with-no-mpen-in-a-2-mr-item-stacking-meta isnt going to compare with my 3k damage burst 740 potential move speed scaling powerhouse that requires master+ ability to calculate and use properly

dont you dare compare them ever again ty sir

also my heal does 350 hp cheerleader sona doesnt come close to that

I also fired my adc like a badass and kicked him out of his own lane and took it over with sona ADC in d1 elo which is something cheerleader sonas cant do

Funniest shit I've read in a while. Sona is easily one of the most brain dead champions in the game.

Your teammates are getting low? Heal You want to engage/disengage? Speed up your team / Use Cresendo You want to poke? Walk up to them and use your Q

Still though, I had a good laugh. I'd +1 you but your post was filled with too much cringe.

it requires flawless ability to calculate/predict the next 5-10 seconds of gameplay with 80-90% accuracy of how it actually happens step for step cd for cd your judgement must be borderline perfect and if your a low elo peasant thats not going to be possible

if you are wrong you are instantly 100-0 or wont be able to take advantage of the 0.5 second window where you can e into the fight to powerchord before having to run back out again and thus you get zoned by being a close range mage

sorry but im one of 2 people on entire NA that can go sona mid/adc in master/challenger elo without powerfeeding the other is cloudwater

ap sona/bakanino used to play ap sona but hes a sellout and goes cheerleader support sona now

if only 2 people on the entire server can do something then its not easy

Dude, I know you like Sona a lot but I'm sorry. I can't take you seriously when you say stuff like that, but go ahead and continue to play her as a mage while she's still busted. I'm just looking forward to those highly justified nerfs so I don't have to waste a ban on the whore anymore.

your opinion is automatically invalid if you disagree with me so I dont really care lol

there are only 2 people in high elo that build sona ap and win games with it while not feeding objective statement nothing to do with opinion

legit only bads ban sona I never see that ban in any kind of high elo because she is so easy to deal with and farm 300g off of

anytime I see sona support while I am mid I literally snare her at level 1 for a 3 man bush cheese then tp back mid its a guaranteed first blood and automatically lets my bot lane get control of the lane

here is eu lcs kid going 0-8 trying to go ap sona mid LOL

They weren't Sona buffs, it was a mini reworking of her kit so that she had more defined and clear gameplay. Is she overtuned right now? Yes. Does that mean the changes were unsuccessful? Hardly.

They weren't Sona buffs

getting pretty much every aspect of her kit improved on one patch. "mini rework". Right.

It is now easier to tell new and experienced Sonas apart. The aura duration nerf when tagging allies is actually really important since she was basically getting a double ability cast via tagging an ally. Once they balance her properly it should be fine. They drained aura duration in order to make Sona less watered down.

Here are all changes compared to her pre V6.14 kit:

Buffs: -Aura radius increased to 400 from 350. -Power Chord damage increased to 15 - 235 (based on level) from 13 - 192 (based on level). -Aria of Perseverance base heal increased to 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 from 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110. -Heal AP ratio increased to 25% AP from 20% AP. -Base shield health increased to 30 / 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 from 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115. -Shield AP ratio increased to 30% AP from 20% AP. -Diminuendo target now deals 25% less damage for 3 seconds, up from 20%. -Diminuendo AP scaling increased to 4% AP per 100 AP from 2% AP per 100 AP. -Song of Celerity active self movement speed duration no longer decays over the duration of the 3 seconds (stays up to 7 seconds if Sona is out of combat) -Aura movement speed AP ratio increased to 6% per 100 AP from 4% per 100 AP. -Aura movement speed duration increased to 3 seconds from 1.5. -Crescendo: NEW EFFECT: Grants 20 / 30 / 40% base cooldown reduction on basic abilities. Stacks multiplicatively with cooldown reduction.

Nerfs: -Aura duration no longer extends for up to 2 seconds when affecting allies. -Hymn of Valor Q base damage reduced to 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 from 40 / 80 / 120 / 160 / 200. -Aria of Perseverance: REMOVED: Increased healing based on missing health. REMOVED:Crescendo rank no longer increases potency of basic abilities.

Neutral: NEW EFFECT: Diminuendo Now shrinks targets for duration of debuff.

Bugs: BUG FIX: Fixed a bug where Aria of Perseverance could be cast instantly after Song of Celerity, rather than being gated behind Sona's brief "global cooldown" after casting a basic ability. V6.14 July 20th Hotfix

So sona can get a 8% win rate worth of buffs, but aatrox can drop by 9% and riot ignores taht? what the fck? Thank you riot for you favoritism and bullshit

Eedat1 votes

Aatrox is being left untouched because tbh hes just a shittier version of Jax. Their kits are pretty identical but Jax's is just a bit better. He needs a full blown reowrk which is why theyve kind of left him alone

what win rate should a champ have? 52-53% is damn close to 50/50 meaning she isnt so over powered that picking or not picking her is a insta win/loss. a sona cant carry a game by her self. she is a support. she has some poke, and a well rounded kit. she is squishy, immobile and has no cc until her ult. which is a skill shot. the popularity of sona did rise a bit with the rework but she also rose out of the match ups in lane. where you see alot of karma, nami, morgana, soraka sona is a strong pick into or verses those champs. nami has more heal and higher scaling ap ratios on her abilites, morgana has a hard cc a shield and a aoe root with her ult that isnt a skill shot. soraka has a global ult that heals all team mates , karma has alot of burst and mobility. sona has some poke, some heal a slight movement speed buff and a skill shot ult as her only form of cc. plz cry more

http://champion.gg/champion/Sona during the first week of the update she was almost 60% winrate. 55.5 almost 56% is still ridiculous for a support that can also carry mid

ProfDrDeath1 votes

In a vacuum, as close to 50% as possible.

In reality, it really depends on the champion in question and their respective popularity. An uncommonly played champion, aka one that is used chiefly by people who invest a lot of time into the champion, can have a higher winrate and still be balanced.

On the other side, a champion with huge popularity and 50% winrate should be looked at.
