I know alot of people dont take Aram as a 'serious mode' but im Diamond 1 and legitimately got matched vs a Bronze 1, yesterday I was put against a challenger player and had a silver 3 on my team (nothing against the silver player)
You need to put a cap with which elos can be matched with which, i.e, Bronze can go vs Iron/Bronze/Silver/Gold3 and below etc
Oh, and what do you do with the unranked, who only play ARAM (ie: the really serious grim faced ARAM players)? and what is one of those in top 5% MMR of ARAM happens to peek into ranked, decide that it isn't for him and returns to ARAM, now ranked Paper X or something?
Maybe the occasional ranked players finding themselves from Abyss should instead receive some kind of MMR bonus for ARAM, so they get closer to their skill level people on the match, but total "No Bronzies with Diamonds" restriction would cause problems.
Diamond+ would wait 20min in queue to fight with team full of gold/plat and challenger would never be able to play at all. Its not popular mode and even low elo have to wait.
Why would the system care about ranked MMR in an ARAM game?
riot doesnt even consider your ranked mmr in normals.
i remember 5 years ago, was super fun when i was new, freshly hit lv 30, at the skill level of bronze and everyone on both teams was plat or higher.
yeah i learned a lot from going 0/17 and getting stomped. i learned that high elos flame me for somethign riot fucked up and never bothered fixing.
