I had 2 matches vs Vlad today, one where I was jax and he shit on me and I went 0/5. At minute 12 he one shots me under tower even though I rushed merc treads and wits end.

Second match I was Darius, I shit on him and he was 1/3, minute 14 he one shots me under tower when I was 85% hp. At minute 22 he one shots BOTH my Kassadin and Twitch.

Why is a champion that is extremely safe early game able to also scale into a RANGED HYPERCARRY by 'lategame' (late game is now 20 minutes bois), he has nothing to punish besides his aids pool cooldown which any competent Vladimir player just stands under their tower till its backup again. If I beat him in the laning phase, he just goes 0/5 and one shots my AD carry. What can I do? Outplay his heal?

king of salty Hash actually had a good idea and said reduce his healing on minions from 50% scaling up to 0% healing reduction (from levels 1 to 18), that way he cant reach 27 hp and just sit spamming Q behind tower.

Any conversation not involving play ranged is welcomed

Edit: alot of people dont seem to realize my main complaint is that he has jackshit for counterplay, in matchups he is bad in he afks sit under tower and spams Q to heal, in matchups he is good in he afk sits under YOUR tower and spams Q to kill you and heal. Inevitably at minute 15-20 your ADC and support stop being able to play the game because Vladimir clicked R and E, then goes into blood pool with phase rush proc'd and runs into them at mach 15.

I am someone who exclusively plays melee champions, its not surprising that I hate ranged toplaners but the thing is, Im fine with going up vs shit like Swain, his abilities are dodgeable and his heal is tied to a DODGEABLE skillshot which allows for interaction whereas Vladimir just spams point and click Q on minions, theres no interaction. Other examples include Renekton, while he CAN heal off minions, its complete garbage healing tied to a long cooldown and the heal is only noticeable if a champion is hit as well, Darius can only heal off champions and it can be dodged by walking into it, Chogath is primarily off killing minions so zoning him annihilates his ability to heal. Vlad has nothing of the sort, telling me to buy greivous wounds is the same arguement as 'Ah release Aatrox isnt broken, just buy greivous wounds!'

Release Aatrox WAS broken and buying grevious wounds didnt instantly make him shit tier, what he needed was nerfs and the eventual rework, they even removed his E healing him on minions and gave it to his 20 second long cooldown passive instead

every time i see a vlad lock in on the other team i get so discouraged knowing its going to be an awful game and hope someone dodges.

I agree tbh. I played a game recently with my friend who was vlad and he got a triple kill while stunned by Ashe ult. The champ is ridiculous right now. IMO part of the issue is so many ap items also giving hp so he is tanky while dealing damage.

You are garbage if as with a Darius with lead you didn't get merc boots and spirit visage and proceed to snowball. he one shot you at 85% you itemized like crap.

Vlad has a horrendously weak early, no wavepush whatsoever so he never has prio, you should have been roaming down to mid or invading their jg 24/7 before he got protobelt.

Bruh how are you Masters typing this lol. There is literally so much counter play. Laning against vlad is so free. He's hard to kill but his wave clear is god awful and is short ranged. Rushing grievous wounds can allow you to go for kills or you can just shove him in and roam. I feel like this stuff should be obvious to even gold players.

He's also incredibly annoying mid. Its really hard to pop off against him mid, because he is so safe and his push is maneless and free. Then he reaches mid and late where he can one shot anyone and just suck his way to victory

Dawg you are definitely exaggerating. As Jax, you punish him hard early just by q-ing him and baiting his pool which has a cd of 27 sec early on. Then you e q and hard punish. Only way he wins lane if he freezes it towards his side and poke you down. For Darius, i call bs on that one shot from 85% hp unless you played that extremely horrible or you gave him a huge amount of cs. Vlad outscales Darius but he doesnt outright win like that unless you are bsing. I can understand the hate for Vlad but his early game is abusable. He has weak waveclear with his E and his pool costs 20% of his HP plus its on a 27 sec cd (that's with the 5% cdr rune).

Vlad's damage is only high when he combos out on someone. When he "one shots" someone he is going through his entire combo on someone who has to be within his short range. He has almost no crowd control except a slow on E if you are next to him and his W when he uses it to avoid damage drains his health considerably. The one thing he does well is have a strong all in.

What you are describing is just that in the games you have played so far your team didn't respect his all in potential or build anti healing.

I don't play top lane to know his counters, but I'm sure there are plenty of them. I know Cho'gath can make laning phase awful for him for example. The silence on Cho W stops him from pooling away and if he ever gets low from using abilities he can R and insta kill.

you have to abuse his early gametbh yeah it sucks i hate range in general top but his only escape is his pool which has a massive cd so things like renekton gnar something with some sort of jump and cc as well as sustain do well into him top side.

Listen, jax SHOULD get shit on by vlad, since jax is a "late game" champ that shits on most champs these days by the beginning of mid game (and sometimes sooner) and he doesn't really even have a bad laning phase anymore like he used to. Even then, jax massively outscales vlad, and playing jax with SoS is practically cheating.

Now as for the darius matchup with vlad, it's basically a skill matchup and you CAN beat him (you even got the lead early). But here's the thing. At minute 14 vlad CAN'T oneshot you or even come CLOSE if you have the lead...as long as you built your items properly. Of course he'll potentially do 85% of your hp if you build zero magic resist. But if you have a kill lead and have even ONE magic resist item, there's no way he comes close to oneshotting you by himself. The only way you lose to him then is by jungle intervention or very sloppy play on your part.

As for vlad actually being OP, I have no comment, because I really don't have an opinion on him overall. To me, there are just way worse champs right now (such as jax) that are more worthy of nerfs.

First, No he did not oneshoot you under tower, go check what oneshoot means.

Secondly, I didnt think i'd have to explain to a master player what grievious wounds items are for.
