New way to deal with opressive AD Assassins

In a game I played recently, I experimented to find the new best way to counter build oppressive ad assassins like zed or kha'zix as a mage. The conclusion of experiment was Frozen Heart. I think its better than Zhonya's because it gives 45 more armor, 20% CDR, gives mana, and it costs 700 less gold. You might even be able to skip Morellonomicon or Athens Unholy Grail. It's everything a mage could ask for except for AP damage. It worked wonders in a recent game I played where the enemy had a Kha'Zix and Zed. I now believe that its beter than Zhonya's. I build both anyway for the extra armor. Riot please don't touch Frozen Heart like you did to FQC, us mage mains are trust trying to find new ways to deal with the new season. Try it out guys it works!!!

i think zhonyas is overvalued by a lot of people. the active is more situational than people like to admit, as a lot of the time it will just get you killed or accomplish nothing.

don't get me wrong, it's a good item, but a lot of people act like it's the knight in shining armor that saves mages from certain doom, and it isn't.

Zhonya's is better against bursty champs like Zed or Talon, because the point is to let them waster their abilities and then take them down. Zhonyas also gives armor, so your point is invalid; it also gives AP, which is way more important to mages.

Not quite because Frozen Heart gives a lot more armor and is much more cheaper. It can almost work just as well as Zhonya's. Kind of like half a morellonimicon and half Zhonya's. My biggest point is that its cheaper.

I don't think its a terrible idea. item 1058 item 3110 gives more stats than item 3157 against moderate AD burst for equivalent cost. You can then directly get Luden's for more damage.

Current poppy destroys assassins still don't know why you think having a champ who only works late game in an oppressive manner is better than a balanced champ who can still do the same all game.
