Looking at the distribution in ranked players, bronze 5 and bronze 4 have approximately the same number of players. I have a very small sample size (3 games) but I feel like bronze 4 is a lot harder. Maybe there's a much bigger gap in the skill of bronze 5 players than bronze 4 players? Also, does Bronze get proportionately harder as the season goes on than silver does, etc?

I might try to give an explanation or theorize if this was a consistent pattern (and it may prove to be, I wouldn't know), but just keep trying and don't expect a few games to be the norm. We all get bad steaks, for whatever reason.
Kristari Zuboro1 votesThe ladder, from Bronze to Challenger is progressively harder as you climb. The 5's, in my experience, are the soft spots in the ladders where the previous rank seems to be harder.
Bronze 1 > Silver 5, Silver 1 > Gold 5, etc.
