Dodging in promo's

I think dodging in promo's should not give you a instant loss, I don't think anybody wants to dodge champ select, ever. It's usually unintentional so maybe you could give lesser punishments for people who do so. I think theres still should be punishments but dodging in ranked normally loses you 3 lp dodging in promos however loses you about 18 lp worth of games. Maybe dodging should only give you .5 of a loss, and dodging TWICE will result in a full loss, but its not fair to lose a whole game in promos. Maybe the punishment should be a double timer instead of 5 make it 10. The reason I believe this isn't fair is because nobody goes into a champ select with the intention of dodging it. So why would punishments be so much harder during promotional series?

I feel like you should get 1 free dodge in your promos with 0 penalty.

I dodge in my promos now even if it means a loss.

LP and RANK are illusions. It's your MMR that matters. Even if it's a fucking promo.

People dodge on purpose. trust me. I have friends who dodge games and its NEVER on accident. they choose to dodge for a number of reasons. whether it be annoying enemy comp or got autofilled.

Yup, I just dodged a promo game because not only did one of my teammates ban the champ our jungler was going to pick but then takes vayne top which was the champ our bot lane was going to pick. The guy clearly knew 3 of us were in promos and wanted to screw everyone over. I would rather dodge and hope for a better set of teammates and taking an instant loss is kind of lame when you get these kind of people in your games. I really don't think people should be able to see you're in promos or what your current LP is...

Agreed, I just dodge a game because I ran into the same support as the previous lobby, introducing himself with something like 'hey son of a b* ADC, what do you play" and then just bans his pick for no reason. Thing is i dodged to avoid a loss, but i didn't know dodging in promos was an instant loss. Anyhow, it shouldn't be, like ppl said before, you don't join a lobby with the intention of dodging IMO...

My ADC left right after dying 1 time. Lost promos because of that player. It makes me think why im even playing ranked anymore.

I agree i would rather have 4 normal silver than 4 plata that argues in champ select and threat to feed.

So i was just in a flex champ select and i got my second role and my duo got autofilled to supp. We had a mid laner who wanted to go adc and when he didnt get it we picked jhin mid. on top of that our jg picked twitch. 3 ads with no real tank, so i dodged just cause our team comp was trash and i get a loss for that? seems like a bit much.

I feel like the only reason I ever dodge is if someone is trolling or if there is two or more autofills on our team. In these situations winning the game is especially hard. And a win is even more important since it's promos. Therefore, the punishment doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. The place where winning is most important, you get punished the most harshly for trying your best to secure a win.

Well guys you are talking about the guy who dodged intentionally, what about the people who dodged by mistake? i got confused during a champ select in my promos cause a guy wanted to switch and i failed to lock in. i dont know if you think that its my mistake and i deserve to lose my promos, but i dont think its fair.

Resurrecting this post because this stupid mechanic does need some modification, of course there is so much dumb stuff in this game this is probably the least important (yet probably the easiest to fix coding wise) on their list of things to do.

sincerely, is all about time, in the time that i got stuck in a game with a soraka jung and a ornn adc, i can dodge, play another game, win, and enter in promo again, what we need is a vote to kick people in solo q, so we re sure that we dont get a troll, that literaly says in the second that enters : IM GONING TO TROLL, SO DODGE IF YOU WANT yeah, no, thanks, i dont want to waste time and yeah, goning is literaly what it said and yeah, i dont think it can be human, because thats degrading to humans, so IT is perfect

an auto loss for dodging is perfectly fair because you're not suppose to fucking dodge. there is no reason for it. period.
