Teemo ^_^
Why the hate? Whenever I pick Teemo in a ranked game, I often get a lot of hate just for choosing him.

People hate Teemo because:
He used to be much stronger top lane, became a meme for it, and the hate has stuck around regardless of his power falling as the meta changed.
Teemo is a thinking champ that goes top lane against Riven, Darius, and Tryndamere players who think that "real men" charge in without watching where they step.
People do troll with Teemo, as they do with every champion (AD Soraka anyone?), but given the pre-established hate people have for him it stands out more.
Teemo's contribution towards a teamfight is setup and exit. Mushroom rings exist for a reason, but not everyone is smart enough to use them. If a teammate doesn't understand how to use Teemo's mushrooms during a teamfight, they'll blame Teemo because in their eyes he did nothing.
Teemo can also contribute in dps and blinds towards a teamfight, however his squishiness and "wear them down" mentality means that he has to be selective about how and when he engages. Poorly selected teamfights will see Teemo's contribution fall off, and the blame for this will be placed on Teemo, not the player who poorly engaged.
Given that some of Teemo's memes come from the idea that his mushrooms are nukes (rather than the DoT, slowing anti-personnel landmines they are), it is harder for allies to understand their faulty logic in reasons 4 and 5. Can Teemo's ultimate be used as a nuke in situations? Yes. Is that their sole purpose and his best build? No.
Given that Teemo rarely wins, popularity-wise, in teamfights, some Teemo players choose not to participate in teamfights as the best case scenario winds up with them being completely ignored, and the worst case scenario winds up [the rest has been censored due Geneva Convention requirements]. This adds to the perception that Teemo does nothing for teamfights.
Despite the fact that many top players ignore teamfights (they need an Old Man Nasus skin, "Get off my lane, you crazy kids!"), Teemo's prior hate makes his absence stand out more, mentally, to other players.
So to answer your question, Teemo was designed to be a small weakling who won fights by playing dirty. Though no single aspect about him is worth near the level of hate he receives, the fact that he has something that annoys everyone, combined with his initial overpoweredness in top lane (like 3 years ago), means that things snowballed into a self-sustaining meme. So play Teemo with pride, and ^_^ in chat whenever somebody complains. Logic is on your side, it only helps you to let the naysayers vent their own ignorance.
in general people don't like him because of his e , very little counter play to it in lane and very toxic to play against like
's q, or
in general as it cost nothing. and temmo doesn't contribute to team fights that much and most temmo players rarely leave lane that what i have found to be main reason, "there are better more top tier" top laner that can to more for a team like wu or malp or sion etc.
I also get a lot of hate when playing my favorite champ. Comments like "you're teemo no nerf for you" or "Satan descends, report." If i am faced by this i instantly report the person for unskilled (as there is no "delusional uneducated imbecile button"), but I think that our toxic community needs to learn that he is a part of the game and they need to learn to deal with it.
